Spontaneously bought one during our trip to Japan last month. The X3. Fantastic camera but as usual with action cams, night time performance is very lacking. But good fun nonetheless. Captures memories in a whole different light.

I have the x3. Makes my GoPro obsolete. I'll be selling it actually.

Will make sense to mention what gopro as there are 12 version of gopros now.

      • I have the GoPro Hero 11

  • Can anyone recommend a 360 cam that records in suitable resolution to read text on a sheet of paper about three feet away from it? Have a use case but find cameras kind of confusing after reading terrible things about GoPros failing and not saving video and stuff. Is the X3 the one to get?

    • From what I've gathered the X3 is the one to get, unless you want to get the ONE RS 1-Inch.
X3 is more compact, and waterproof, action sports oriented.
1 Inch is for higher qualityrecording, not waterproof.

      • Quality isn't important, as long as it can discern text on a page a few feet away and pick up numbers on letterboxes and street signs. I know $600 isn't a lot of money, but I wouldn't want to find it unsuitable and buy another one, $600's adds up fast, $1200 is a lot more than $600.

          • @dafatha: They all looked okay in that video, though people aren't buying these to discern printed text I suspect so probably no comparison for that.

I suspect any modern 360 camera will do the job. I'm just so far out of the loop I wouldn't want to buy a lemon, I've already got a drawer full of lemon products I wasted money on.

@AustriaBargain: It's Amazon.. buy it… If no good and doesn't do what you require it to do. Send it back :)

  • I am new to these sort of cameras.

Do any of these stitch videos together like Google memories via AI for you to highlight interesting moments? Like also the no longer made Google Clips?

Trying to find a use case that doesn't require extensive video editing from my part

They have software which I believe does something similar to what you’re after. GoPro has something like that as well.

Overall the software for these seems to get good ratings from users.

I wouldnt buy it. I bought my X3 in June for $586. Black Friday is coming in fast too…

was thinking the same - wouldn't be surprised if price wouldn't be <$600 either tomorrow/Wed on Amazon or during BFCM

      • Interesting that X2 promo finishes today (9th), so maybe they have a different promo starting tomorrow (10th).

    • X3 looks as if it's much better. I'm waiting.

  • got this for $550 from amazon last year prior to release of x3

  • lol the X3 only costed me 600+, this is horrible deal
