Looking for Advice Re Using an E-Gift Card with Afterpay

Long time lurker, first time doing this. If I do anything wrong, let me know and I can try and fix it :)

So essentially what I have is a Visa e-gift card that I got from my work. I was planning on buying a gift card with it and spending that gift card in a web store as most places don’t do online part payments.

However, the store (Aussiebum) I was hoping to use it on seems to have an issue with their gift cards at the moment, and they have a current 50% off sale and I don't want to miss out. The e-gift card is essentially recognised as a Visa card, but it can’t process more than what is already loaded on it.

Does anyone know if I can use my Afterpay account to make the purchase and then pay off a large chunk using this e-gift card and the rest using my normal card?

    You won't be able to pay off your Afterpay account with the e-gift card.

    Just use cash for the sale (or to pay off your afterpay purchase), or your credit card and pay it off before balance carries. Use the visa gift card for groceries or whatever.
