Referee gets 50% off 1st order. Referrer gets 1 free pair.
Black one is $65. I think they are giving $15 signup credit to new Prime customers. So may be try signing up for 30 days trial from a new browser.
they're comfy , but get too many holes in rear of underwear in too short a time.
Prefer the anko ones from kmart
yeah, i think if you sweat a lot then no matter how good the underwear is, it will deteriorate quick. for that reason i use kmart or bigw home brand. atleast you can throw and buy new every 4-6 months
Throw away? I've got underwear going back to 1976 that I'm still wearing! :)
I thought I was the only one encountering this fatal flaw in underwears - I only buy Kmart ones so I think I use Anko as well
Do you have a link to the kmart ones? Ive heard good things but never know which ones they are
Judging by the reviews they are excellent jocks, but they also indicate that a disturbing amount of dudes are having undies bought for them by family members.
@d3ft: Underwear is expensive. If someone wants to buy me underwear thank you very much, I will not complain.
@d3ft: The Kmart jocks are so good, just trying the AliExpress stepone ripoffs for something different
@Duplicity: Link?
@AaronR: From Snitz' comment: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005004831457475.html?spm=a2…
Legit question what are these like front pouch wise? Some room up front or is it like trying to catch a train in India?
@quikstix: Pretty roomy, they fit snug but they are quite soft and don't exert a lot of pressure. As long as you aren't expecting your junk to be swinging in air, you should be pleased. Check out the TV ad for fit on the Maori actor they use.
They also have a "first pair" guarantee. If you only open one pair and try it on, and you are not happy with it, they will let you keep it. If you send the other unopened pairs back, they will refund you the entire lot.
@endotherm: Cheers for the reply but was referring to the kmart ones. Have bought the “real” step one and the alibaba/Ali express ones and can’t tell the difference. Don’t love them that much tbh
@quikstix: I like Knobby's if you want more front space, the Step One's seem to go further out but then kinda cut you off in an uncomfortable position. Knobby's seem to go a bit farther back. A bit too expensive though.
@ginormousgiraffe: Cheers i had tried Knobby's and they were good in that department but found they always rode up the thighs which sucked.
@quikstix: When did you buy them? They changed their cut about a year ago and the new one does not ride up on me at all but the old one definitely did.
Are the Anko ones finger resistant?
They just shrank and became uncomfortable for me. I was really careful to only line dry them too. Now I tend to grab a 5 pack of Hanes ones from Amazon for $30 or so
Selling in AliExpress as something
?
He's not wrong. They sell the same pair on AliExpress or similar sites, StepOne just gets their logo slapped on the waistband. They listing I saw months ago even had the StepOne branding.
Yep, and StepOne gets them for like $2 a pair in bulk. Such a rort!
OzBargain has fallen out of love with Step One.
Personal opinion, but I think they are overrated and even 3 for $55ish is way too expensive. For those interested, Alibaba sells authentic, factory rejects for cheaper with the logo blurred out in photos (just for listings, undies come with the tags etc when you receive them).

Do they actually ship smaller quantities though? Last time I tried to do this it was like 50 minimum quota
Possibly on aliexpress?
Tried A step Ones intro offer and liked them took a shot on these off of aliexpress - https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005004831457475.html?spm=a2… they arrived in the exact same plastic zip bags and other than the band and tag seem to be identical. Chinese sizes i went up 2 sizes and they fit perfectly.
Thanks copped a set let's see
Please let me know what you think. I've been thinking about trying Step One's, but don't want to pay as much for them lol
Do they actually say “man underwear” on the ones you received?
Yeah they do
Just a heads up that these do NOT include the lycra paneling that make the Kmart and StepOnes so good. It looks like it in the photos, but mine arrived today and it's just a cotton panel of another colour.
They are also VERY long in the leg. Probably couldn't wear these with shorts.
I'll give them ago under my jeans/work pants but for now the search for an aliexpress clone continues.
Stepones are a rip off compared to the Kmart equivalent. I’ve had both and the Kmart ones last way longer before any holes or tearing separation of the waistband part. They’re the best underwear I’ve owned, easily.
The Steppies are also just a rebranded AliExpress (a few years ago someone found an Ali listing that still had all the Stepone branding on it). Can not recommend Stepone unless you really can’t live without a fly, which the Kmart ones lack.
Kmart - there used to be a mid length and long length option for $6 and $8 respectively, now just the one $10 option by the looks of it.

Bet you to it above, Alibaba. But I note they are also on AliExpress as I have seen them there before too.
Well played - I support whatever gets the warning out to the masses as soon as possible
After all the good references to the Kmart variety, I had to go and have a look, even though the local store showed out of stock. A 3 pack of my size (no single ones in there) scanned for $15 and the longer length “sports” variety were $12 each.
Today’s OzBargain deal of the day! Thank you all very much for all of the good info.
These used to be $11 a pair with a good deal, worth it at that price but this is getting up there
I find the bonds 'x temp' line to be way better than step one.
They last longer and are more comfortable
Agreed. Been using those two years, daily, not a single hole or loose thread etc.
Everything bonds I’ve tried haven’t stayed in the drawer after 2nd try. Never comfortable or get super sweaty or or or… always something. One thing all of their undies have is the legs always ride up. Under armour still my go to for me
Not the same product but a huge fan of the total package briefs.
For those that want better quality (underwear with modal fabric), you can buy Lululemon - 5 for 119. If you are a student, you get 10% off and if you are a first responder, you can get 15% off but you have to go to the store.

Are there any brands of underwear similar to these that come with a pouch that anyone would recommend?
What about the underwear sold at Aldi? Are they good as well?
Step one - buy 5000+ pairs from https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/best-underwear-for-sw…
Step two - financial freedom
Having also done the underwear dance throughout the years - just want to point your attention to the Maxx brand.
The bamboo trunks are $15 each normally but you can pick them up on special sometimes
https://www.target.com.au/b/maxx?category=W127085&brand=Maxx
I don't buy anything else any more, they are super comfortable and have lasted me 5 years so far, but will try the K-Mart brand on recommendation next time.
The bamboo trunks
Just so you know, almost all "made from bamboo" clothing in Australia is not what you think it is, it's not environmentally "green". And it's also no different from clothing made from wood pulp, its properties are the same.
I recommend you read this article: https://www.sbs.com.au/news/article/have-we-had-the-bamboo-p…
Bamboo fiber can be made directly into clothing, and that's environmentally good, and that type of cloth has several advantages.
However, bamboo can also be processed down until it's just a chemical (cellulose), and then turned into essentially plastic, and then turned into thread: Viscose, which is also known as Rayon. Viscose can be made in a "green" (but expensive) way, or a cheap way that uses poisonous chemicals. Unless the clothing says the viscose was made by the Lyocell process, it's almost certainly the "cheap, from poisonous chemicals" type.
More info here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rayon
So basically, treat any claim of "made from bamboo" with suspicion. Most often, it's a case of greenwashing. The bamboo content of the trunks you mentioned, is "Viscose from bamboo", as stated under the "Materials and Composition" heading.
The "made from Bamboo" claims of Step One trunks also appear to be greenwashing. They make green claims about how the bamboo is produced, but are silent about how it is processed into thread.
Edit: upon checking the StepOne website, they say "the Step One process does NOT use carbon disulfide in the extraction process." This is the poisonous chemical used in the cheap processing method.
However, they don't say which process they use, so they're hiding something. If they want to be green, all they have to do is say "we're using the Lyocell process", or give details of their alternative process, and they're not doing that.
Oh thanks for that but to be fair I don't actually care what the trunks are made from. I just prefer that silky feeling over the standard cloth feeling. That's the only reason I buy that kind :)
I don’t understand why some people are so negative about STEP ONE. They have a great selection of sizes, including 5-6XL, which is hard to find elsewhere. I appreciate their quality and comfort, and I think they deserve more praise.
I think it's generally because they are fairly expensive and they are supposedly the same as alibaba/aliexpress ones, that you can get for $7 or $8 a pair.
If only there was a deal on the blacks… sometimes I get follow through when passing gas
