  • Is this the first time they're having a sale outside Black Friday 30% off sales? Or does this not count as its (supposed to be) an event exclusive?

    • Is their black friday is always 30%? wanting to change all my car stuff to quadlock for the pixel 8 but happy to wait a few weeks for it.

      • +1

        If history repeats itself, yes.

    • They have 30% at trade shows quite regularly, but online 30% is only once or twice in a year, if at all.

      • Lately at the shows I only saw 20%

  • of course after i just had to buy a stuff…haha

    • Me too…

      • Same, placed an order earlier this week

    • Same, ordered arrived today >.<

    • Argh I just bought a bunch of gear less than 24 hours ago

  • +4

    $69. Nice.

    • Strategic figure

  • +1

Great product. I've got a case, car vent mount, wireless charging head and bicycle stem mount. Aussie designed!

  • +1

did not need one. Somehow, I felt i need this now after seeing the deal.

  • +1

Anyone used there push bike mount? Worth the $75? Would be used with a pixel 7 pro on a hybrid bike.

    • +3

Yep. Used their original mount, not the new mag one.

Very solid, doesnt budge at all. Also have the car mount and have driven on very rough roads (outback WA) and was very stable the whole time.

    • +1

I have the push bike mount (handlebar/stem) and now moto (handlebar pro) mount.

Bike mount has been on my road bike for 7 years, no issues - I think its worth it.

"Weather Poncho" just went yellow with the sun, I wouldn't bother with that unless you must..

      • +2

Same as above. Very happy with my bicycle, dash and vent mounts, but poncho was useless - my screen wouldn't register unlock pattern through poncho

    • Was looking at 7 pro as well but they seem to have multiple pictures that are different (with and without camera bump).

  • +2

    Looks like a good system

  • -2

For me, the peak design system has replaced my quad lock and in my opinion, is far superior. it is stupidly overpriced & expensive system though but it does open up all the magsafe accessories (for non-iphone) as well for non bike use and is far less bulky than quad lock.

if you're considering, just log in and put something in your cart, and then leave it for 24 hours, theres a promo code for $20 USD off $150 USD spend - terrible but better than nothing.

    • +2

Quad Lock is superior for active users: runners, mountain bikes, motorsports, etc.

But for desk bound and car drivers, there are better alternatives.

      • i respectfully disagree, the peak design mounts are better - for active use as well, i use them as my bike mounts - steady as a rock, without the bulk of the quad lock case.

        • +2

Road bike maybe fine. For motorsport, and to some extend mountain biking, you need the vibration dampener if you value your phone's camera system: https://www.quadlockcase.com.au/products/vibration-dampener

          • @browser: yeah i do use it for commuting/road biking so you could be right on there.

            • @lawyerz: Peak Design makes some nifty products, I have their Capture with Dual Plate, it enables the camera to move seamlessly between Capture (on my backpack), tripod with Manfrotto shoe, and gimble with Arca Swiss shoe, quite clever.

              • -1

@browser: indeed. i have virtually almost everything they make. been with them since their first kickstarter days

          • -1

@browser: The motorcycle mount has a built in vibration dampener already. In the process of swapping from QL to PD.

            • @ATangk: Interesting, got a link or some info? I may make the switch too. QL gets annoying after a while. I use the Pro mount but there's not much room to get my key in and was thinking to grab some spacers but ceebs paying $8 for the product and $9 for shipping.. I'm pretty sure they ship from near Frankston too and that's only like 30 minutes away from me.. I'll probably have better luck just grabbing some spacers for now down at my local AMX or something.

        • -2

i respectfully disagree. peak design can't even design a case for the new action button, never buying from them again.

          https://www.theverge.com/23892671/iphone-15-pro-action-butto…

          • +2

@alamodey: The article you linked explains that it's not because they can't design it..

          • -1

@alamodey: Well, they will send me a new case mid November, free of charge. I’m not sure what other resolution you’re hoping for.

            • -3

@ATangk: to not stuff up in the first place?

              • +2

@alamodey: You’re clearly a hater downvoting everything for no reason. Apple doesn’t disclose these things to case makers which aren’t big brands. They had no idea if it’s an action button or switch.

  • Solid design, I had their car mount, motorbike mount, bicycle mount, utility clip, and the ring. Worked very well.

But I have since changed to dedicated GPS units for motorbike and bicycle, both units have BT integration with phone. So the need for Quad Lock to mount a phone has diminished.

The biggest downside about Quad Lock is their lumpy case, it doesn't lay flat on the table. It's an acceptable comprise when you mount your phone across bikes, quads, side-by-sides, boats, etc. But if you are only going to use it in cars, just get a normal car mount that works with any case.

Their new MAG phone cases are all flat now. No more back bumps

      • But they have made the case thicker.

There's no way to hide that locking mechanism, either protruding (lumpy), or recessed (thick).

      • Mag cases are brilliant, opens up all the mag accessories and the cases feel more robust

    • +1

I've dropped my S22+ sooooo many times.
No cracked screen, no phone damage and I've been surprised I haven't had a busted phone.
I use wireless charger and vibration damper and lock mount on my motorbike. Come off a couple times and phone hasn't gone anywhere, rock solid.
Have wireless charger and magnet mount in car and even off roading in my ute, it's solid.
Mag phone case switches between both super easy.
If only the wireless charger power bank that atra he's to phone was a larger 10k size battery.

Black Friday sale is usually 30% off, but, I've paid full price for a new case when getting a new phone, and noticed they've upped the minimum charge for free delivery to a higher amount now

  • Pixel 8 cases already, nice.

I swap my case to the quadlock when I go on the bike, as others said to bulky otherwise

  • Nice. Thanks OP.

Perfect timing for the Pixel 8.

  • +1

The knock off ones apparently work just as well, if not better according to some YouTube videos and cost 1/10 the price. Seems like the tape on the cheapos are crap though but that's easily replaced.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HK-emqDHh2Y&t=34s&ab_channel…

I haven't tried either myself but planning to get one from Temu and see how it goes.

  • Has anyone tried these cases with wireless charging? My car (Tesla) has wireless charging, and I'd be loathe to have to take it out of the case every time I get in the car (1st world problems, I know)

    • +1

Yes, the MAG cases work with wireless charging as the sit flat on the charging pads. The older quadlock cases are a hit & miss

      • +1

I find they’re too thick to work properly. Gets hotter and slower rate of charge than other cases.

    • +1

I'm currently renting a Model Y and can confirm wireless charging works fine on a Pixel 7 Pro with the mag case

  • thx OP great find!

  • +1

Thanks, was about to buy yesterday, glad I waited :)

  • New to these kind of case, just wonder which type of motorbike mounts are the best? Thanks.
They have Handlebars, Fork Stems, Brake/Clutch Perches, Brake Reservoirs, Mirror Stems/Small Bars… Too many choices

    • +1

Stem is best. The rest depends on what space you have on your bike.

  • +1

    Deal has expired.

Getting the following message when adding the code.
"This discount has reached its usage limit"

    • It just worked for me

    • Just worked for me :)

      • Seems they reactivated the code. I contacted online chat about the code not working.

  • How do you know a discount has been applied? Looks like normal prices to me. I can't see anything on the page about 20% off. I've been helping the same price all weekend

    • +1

You need to apply the code at checkout.

      • Thanks dude, I'm a bit dumb today.

  • Does the phone still work for NFC payments?

  • its a good idea for the locking system. but im not putting one of them ugly looking cases on my phone sooo yea
