Have some balance in gift card. Tried to use to buy some restaurants but wont allow me to check out use my gift card balance. It used to set this limit on the VISA/MASTER gift cards only but it seemed to extend to all kinds.

That's bad news. I tried a few that I have previously bought with my Amazon gift card balance and all now don't let you.
Your gift card balance can’t be applied to orders that contain other Amazon.com.au gift cards.
Party is getting over one by one.
This is what happens when a loophole is posted in the regular forums.
Why this would be considered as a loophole tho? Not as many chances to get cheap Amazon gift cards as JBHIFI/OFFICEWORKS ect.

Just found out today the hard way. Had $1700 Amazon gift card balance and looking to buy Airbnb gift cards. Was able to buy some in September now cannot.
Went onto chat and they refused to budge when I asked them about where the comms was sent to customers about this policy change. Oh well.
That is to prevent the site imploding into a singularity…
