So what do you do after building all the gunpla that you've amassed over the last 6 months?

You detail it of course :)

Pay special note that these are pour types and not your typical felt tip variety.

Price drop on the metallic set #2 as well https://www.amazon.com.au/GSI-Creos-Gundam-Metallic-AMS125/d…

Edit: Compatible stands by GSC has also had a drop. These are far better value than the action bases.

  • but i thought they are all come coloured already we just cut and snap ?

    • Yes but all parts are colour accurate. Sometimes you do need to handpaint or touch-up a bit if you don't want to use the provided stickers.

      • -1

Considering the price of them, why do you need to apply stickers at all? They should be painted accurately in the factory.

        • +1

Really the same logic applies to all model kits.

      • +1

The photo show it's the pour type, so it should be for panel lining, not painting

    • +2

They do, these are mostly used for panel lining. So they increase the contrast and hence visible detail of the molded parts.
I might be wrong but that is my understanding.

    • Markers are a quick and easy way to add detail to your gunpla.

    • Check out dalong.net

He's got before and after shots of all the kits he's built and reviewed.

    • +2

Like others have said, these specific pour type markers are used for panel lining.

For example, here is the FM 1/100 Aerial after simply cutting and building: http://www.dalong.net/reviews/hg/wmf01/p/wmf01_00a.jpg

Now here it is with its panel lines filled in with the grey gundam marker + stickers applied: http://www.dalong.net/reviews/hg/wmf01/p/wmf01_02.jpg

    • oh okay. understand now.
i thought they are all like lego, built with colours straight

  • +1

This set is also known as gundam marker panel liner pour type which is quite popular. This will add some depth to armor panel lines so your kits look a bit more dynamic.

    • How can you tell if a marker is felt tip type and not a pour type? I know this says pour type, but if another set doesn't say pour type, is it felt tip?

      • Pour type has retractable end bit that will come in and our when pressure applied

        • I meant before purchasing, I can't tell if a pen set is pour type or not.

          • @GreenLego: Ow then you’re right. If it does not say pour type or fine sip then it’s felt

He's a list of all the marker types. There's only a limited number of pour types. The rest are felt tip.

        • Thank you. So the Metallic set you linked in your post is felt and not pour?

  • Is this Temu product that's much cheaper at $3 comparable? You can also choose between a claw and pin

    • i ordered that and received it yesterday, the screws on the joints were fairly hard to screw in as it didn't have any threading, they were decent but I'd gladly pay the extra on Amazon if it means i don't have to mess around a screwdriver too much

  • new to the gunpla scene, what size figures are those GSC stands good for? Would they suit the full range?

    • +1

      They're for 1/144 scale

  • I'm patiently waiting for the inevitable paint booth deal.

    • Same.

Haven't seen a airbrush deal around here before.

  • They've also got the marker airbrush on sale for those that are at that level. I didn't even know these existed - quite interesting.

  • Can these markers be used to fix stress marks?

    • +1

You sure can. In my case (seed marker set), dab a bit on and then I use a tissue to wipe away the excess

      • Cool. I might need to get one then, to fix up my Aile Strike :D. First build and already left a few stress marks.

        • To clear up any confusion - I'm referring to the felt tip markers

        • Oh I see. The one you posted is pour type not felt tip.

          • @peteranh3105: The metallic set in the description is though.

            • @slapz: @peteranh3105, @slapz

How about this for stress mark touch ups? I don't think these are fine enough for panel lining? And these are felt tip, and similar price to the pour type listed in the post.

              • +1

@GreenLego: Those are the ones I currently have. They are felt chisel tipped

  • FYI these are 1200-1300 yen so we're still paying over.

    • +1

Do you have the link to share for 1200 yen delivered to AU?

      • These can be found on the Amazon.jp website, but unfortunately they don't ship it to Australia for that price. There's at least a $5-$6 minimum mark up. I found these in Japan for around 1320 Yen. Amazon.jp had them for 1100-1400 yen.

      • Yeah, I got mine in person from Yodabashi in Akiba.

  • the link is showing $32.21 now?

    • Yeah, its back up to the old price.
