Cheapest Way to Purchase Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra 512GB or 1TB (Sydney) ?

I'm looking to purchase a Samsung S23 Ultra 512GB or 1TB, not too fussed on colour but would be happy with the Black or Lavender.

Really keen on this phone due to the high quality camera, seems to be the best on the market at the moment.

I might opt for the 512GB because its a little cheaper, what is the best price online at the moment? Below is what I can find for either of the phone sizes.

SAMSUNG GALAXY S23 ULTRA 512GB
Catch: $1849.00 (Cream)
Catch: $1865.00 (Lavender)
Amazon: $1887.00 (Lavender - Becetech)
Amazon: $1889.00 (Green)
Amazon: $1925.00 (Green)
Amazon: $1999.00 (All Colours)
Samsung Online: $2024.10 (includes 10% discount when purchased on app)

SAMSUNG GALAXY S23 ULTRA 1TB
Amazon: $2200.00 (Lavender or Black - Electronics Wholesaler Warehouse)
Samsung Online: $2384.10 (includes 10% discount when purchased on app)

May consider a deal where you port your number to a certain plan, eg. $69/month unlimited plan with Optus in return for a discount on the Samsung phone or gift card / credit. If its for the 512GB would need a $1000 discount for it to be worthwhile for me to go to a more expensive plan, and if 1TB, would need to be at least $1200 or so.

Have a look at the previous deals by clicking the related products tab or here.

You'd likely be best by using a trade-in deal either through Samsung or JB Hifi.

    • Do you have to trade in a Samsung phone? I'm after deals without the Trade In offer if possible but I'll check out that link - thanks!

I was going to trade in a phone but didn't end up going through with it due to some technical issues/a friend wanting it. I was charged the value of the trade-in + admin fee.

Some others have used other methods but I am not familiar with them.

$2200 to cop Samsung bloatware. Seems like poor value.

    • What would you recommend? It is quite expensive so trying to find something cheaper, but not sure what the difference is from purchasing say from Samsung direct for around $2650 or Amazon (Electronics Wholesalers Australia) for $2200?

      • I would recommend something that's not $2k, but that's just me. Plenty of things with good cameras way cheaper.

        • Like what though? Doesnt seem to be too many that compares well to the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra, especially with their 200MB camera.

          • @graceyym: 200MP camera.

You also need to remember that pixel count isn't the full story. You're also not getting the full count. Each photo will be 12MP by default through pixel binning/processing. It might be worth having a read about how phone cameras work.

You could use a 200MP image, though it's not going to look great by default and will require post processing.

          • @graceyym: MP does not equal quality. At all. In fact, that many megapixels, in such a small sensor, will generally mean worse low light performance. Buy a phone with a decent camera, and a dedicated camera if you are that worried about the quality, though if you don't know that MP doesn't mean quality, I suspect that you won't notice the difference between a mid range phone camera and a top spec one.

Nah, Samsung hardware is probably the best if you're in the Android world.

Bloatware is easy to deal with and takes at most 30 minutes to sort out. It is pretty much sorted for the life of the device after that point.

      • Noticed on my Oppo recently that I can no longer delete the Netflix app, is that an eexample of bloatware? Didnt realise it had a name for apps that take up space that you don't really use..

        • Yep. Same on OneUI - some apps need to have updates uninstalled and then be disabled.

I believe some apps can also be removed by ADB but don't bother with this.

Samsung Australia won't service / repair your device if your phone was imported from overseas, they will instruct you to send it to the country the phone originated from for repairs. So that's one reason you may prefer buying local stock.

I would wait for amazon prime big deal day and see if any deals show up and failing that look for trade-in deals from Samsung themselves.

  • It states on their profile they sell Australian stock, with 24 months warranty. You can always send them them a message and they will confirm it with you.

    • Is that on their Amazon Profile, I might email them now, thanks! Also noticed on CamelCamelCamel that Amazon have had their price dropped to $2176 a few days ago. Maybe I'll wait for Amazon to reduce the cost again

  • Why do you need the 1TB model. Aren't you going to back up photos somewhere anyway? Easiest way to drop the price would be to grab the lower storage models.

    • Doesn't really matter why I'd like the higher storage device :)
I haven't set up an auto-back up cloud storage for my devices, probably should but wouldnt know what the best way to do that is. Ideally would like photos backed up automatically to a hard drive instead of a cloud drive. I have a Western Digital Hardrive which may allow that but have no clue where to begin, isnt too user friendly.

    • May be he didn't get 30TB Google storage until 2090.

      • Unfortuantly I didnt, wish I did!

  • Go back in time to when the phone was available to buy on the EPP with the telco discount

  • $2,119.20 Samsung government store and JB price match (last time i just showed them screenshot from my samsung gov account )

  • On Samsung EPP, the 512gb is $1799.20, available in 8 colours.

    • Is this available for everyone though, how would we access it.
