I am looking for a nursery in Brisbane that provides good quality bamboo plants. I have around 10mtrs in length to cover and a starting height of 4 to 5mtrs . My budget is 2k.
Thanks.

Cool, any suggestions for a suitable screen that is 10mtrs long and 7mtrs high in mostly full sun and looks nice?….under 2k of course
If the fence is strong enough, you can plant bamboo in long trays (pots) that hang off the fence. I've seen them get about 3 metres above the fence just from pots, without any danger of spreading through the garden. Probably wouldn't work with a basic pine paling fence though.
lillypilly. will take ~2 years with regular watering.

Yep couldn't agree more.
It's a mongrel and hard to kill.
I planted the clumping variety which was supposedly non-invasive but it escaped under the fence into the neighbour's yard.
I didn't know that the clumping variety needs a root barrier installed.
I hit it with multiple applications of herbicide, cut it to ground level and covered it in black plastic and mulch.
It still sends up shoots which need to be sprayed. My old neighbours planted bamboo in their backyard, which of course means that I also have bamboo in my backyard. They sprout pretty quickly and all over the place.
So many leaves, and a surprising amount of small sticks and branches. They never stop falling - every season, those things are pumping out the leaves
You aren't going to get a starting height of 4-5m, 10m long, for $2k.
Yeah I can, 1 plant 4 to 5mtrs tall $150 average price, 1.5mtrs apart for planting.
So to address all of the above ie: bamboo is a pain in the arse…….none of that is a revelation. One of my neighbours has a bamboo screen right on my/our fence line and it's perfect . 10 mtrs tall, great for privacy , yes it drops leaves and I couldn't care less about it, and it hasn't crept over to my yard, been there for 15yrs.
What sort of bamboo is that? I've had bamboo for a couple of years as my diagonal backyard neighbour built a massive shed in suburbia, it's worked out well so far.

Don't customs always do this?
I live in brisbane. I have yet to meet a single person who says "planting bamboo was a good decision "
It grows and grows and grows. Drops crap. And is continually requireing ongoing maintenance.
