Would've preferred % off, but this will have to do. Might get a few more for upcoming birthdays and Christmas.

Yes, I did this a few weeks ago.

      • Thanks for letting me know that.

Are these accepted by the tax office? i have some urgent bills to pay before they come and arrest me

    • +2

All accepting organisations are listed above. If you don't see ATO there, they aren't a shopping centre.

    • No, these are not like prepaid Mastercard or Visa cards. You won't be able to use them to pay bills.

Use to buy itunes/apple cards at JB.

  • Anyone know if you can use these to buy apple giftcards at jb hi hi?

You should be okay to use the TCN Him gift cards in this deal to pay for an Apple gift card instore at JB Hi-Fi (which was something pointed out in a comment above less than 30 minutes ago, but I digress). Some points to consider that have not already been addressed in this comments section:

      • JB Hi-Fi sells Apple gift cards, but only instore.

      • Make sure to tell the JB Hi-Fi staff member you would like to use a card or eftpos card as a payment method. Do not mention anything about wanting to use a gift card as a payment method, because a TCN Him gift card is functionally different to a JB Hi-Fi gift card, and if you say gift card to a JB Hi-Fi staff member, they will likely think you are wanting to redeem a JB Hi-Fi gift card.

      • I have not heard of JB Hi-Fi automatically blocking the redemption of any TCN gift cards when a customer is wanting to purchase an Apple gift card. Keep in mind this could change one day (much like how Officeworks started rolling out an update to their instore checkouts in June 2023 to stop people from using Ultimate gift cards to purchase any gift cards).

      • I have no idea what stock levels for Apple gift cards are like at your local JB Hi-Fi store. It is safe to say the recent 15% off Ultimate gift card deal have caused a lot of stores to run low (or even run out) of Apple gift cards.

      • There have been stories of some JB Hi-Fi staff refusing to let customers use a TCN (or Ultimate or JB Hi-Fi) gift card to pay for an Apple gift card, because staff said you cannot use a gift card to purchase a gift card. YMMV. There have also been stories of some JB Hi-Fi staff limiting the number or dollar amount of Apple gift cards you can purchase in one transaction; this is probably in response to Apple gift cards appearing to become a hot commodity as a consequence of that 15% off Ultimate gift card deal.

What would we do without you, WookieMonster…

      • +4

WookieMonster needs a donation page for his service and dedication.

      • One JB Hifi lied to me about Apple Cards not activating properly. I suppose it is less confrontational to say it didn't loan properly than to accuse a customer of "using gift cards to buy gift cards"

      • +2

JB HiFi in Gepps Cross SA does not let you purchase more than $200 worth of any gift card in a single day. Doesn’t matter if you pay via cash or card/gift card.

        • big sadness. how about the one in rundle mall

  • "550 = 1000"

    $50 ?

  • Which one is for Netflix?

    • The standalone Netflix gift card.

  • Are you able to pay for these using your rewards wallet, loaded with gift cards?

    • No to buying Giftcards/mobile recharges with Giftcards

  • I wonder if there is any variable TCN him card pls, thanks.

  • Dollar value wise, is this deal is basically 10% off?

    • If you plan to redeem them for $ at woolies/big w- then I would say they worth approx 9.5% discount, as u get 5% discount on the woolies gift card in many places

      • +1

Wouldn't that make their worth only 5% as already have the alternative 5% off GC's?
Please check my work: $100 spend = 2000 points ($10 off) but already getting $5 off for a $100 spend on Woolies GC’s, and so nett benefit is $5 per $100 spend.

        • +1

u are right, thanks for correcting- this is an extra 5% off, compared to regular 5% off at Woolies

10% off for normal people who don't use Woolies gift cards

        • +2

You aren't buying Woolies gift cards here though, also can't use Woolies gift cards to buy other gift cards. It's more like 9.1% discount on these TCN cards etc. as from the $100 outlay you get $110 value (gift card + ER points). 100/110 = roughly 9.1% discount.

          @hermitcrab

          • @MiscOzB: I do not think this ratio is correct. It should be 110 / 100. You have 1.1 value for each dollar spent. Although value of ER dollars is slightly less than value of AUD, since spending 1 AUD with gift cards also gives 4c value in WW goods.

Where do you guys get 5% discount on WW GC? One off or always available?

  • What's the main reason people want to buy Apple gift cards at JB instead of just using them at JB? They do have apple products right? Does it get cheaper from apple, perhaps can get student price in store etc?

    • One other reason could be that Apple has easy return policy during the first 2 weeks of purchase.

    • Also to use for services/subscriptions, not hardware

  • can the restaurant card be used with EatClub?

    • Doordash accepts it so I would be pretty sure that it would.

  • +1

So is this essentially 10% off but in edr points? For example if I get $100 tcn him. I get 2000 edr points?

    • $100 TCN HIM g/c = 2000 EDR points = $10.00 off for your next woolies purchase OR 1000 Qantas points transferred.

  • My EDR account has been hacked twice, so now I have points locked into 'use at Xmas'. I can unlock and use immediately, but it is a bit of messing about.
Will I get these bonus points if I pay for these GCs with EDR points? Tks

    • U Can not use EDR $'s.

  • A dumb question, can the TCN restaurant gift cards be used in pubs and bars?

  • Hi Guys, I just bought card for JBhifi in store use. It states to use it in store i have to use the physical card. Is there a way to use it without physical cards? My wife will be purchasing the product today in some other suburb but the cards are with me. Is there a way she can use them instote?

    • If you want to directly use your TCN Him gift cards at JB Hi-Fi, you will need to have the physical gift cards.

Having said that, the TCN website also says you can currently go to their website and exchange your TCN Him gift card for a digital JB Hi-Fi gift card. The digital JB Hi-Fi gift card will be emailed to your email address of choice (usually within a few minutes of requesting an exchange), and can then be redeemed instore or online at JB Hi-Fi. When instore, the digital JB Hi-Fi gift card can be redeemed from your wife’s phone by showing the barcode to the staff member at the checkout for them to scan, or it can be printed out and presented to staff. I believe there is no limit to the number of JB Hi-Fi gift cards you can redeem in one transaction instore at JB Hi-Fi, although staff may ask your wife to provide ID if a large dollar amount (e.g. $500+) is being redeemed from JB Hi-Fi gift cards.

If you do not know how to do an exchange on the TCN website:

      • Go to the webpage for the TCN Him gift card
      • Scroll down to the How To Use section
      • Enter the gift card number into the box and select Continue
      • Choose the desired participating retailer from the dropdown list
      • Click/tap on the Online button to the right of the box or dropdown list
      • Click/tap on Proceed
      • Follow the subsequent steps to have the digital gift card emailed to you.
      • Thanks. So you are saying that i should redeem them online and JB Hi-Fi gift card code will be sent to my nominated email address which I can then use it instore as well. Right?

  • Does anyone know if the $500 card is available?

Only been able to find $50 and $100 values in my local Woolies. Looking at getting $1500 worth for the iphone 15 and not really sure whether JB or Good Guys will accept 15 x cards.

    • +2

Does anyone know if the $500 card is available?

Woolworths only sells $50 and $100 TCN Him gift cards.

not really sure whether JB or Good Guys will accept 15 x cards

If you're buying in-store this won't be a problem at either retailer. If you want to buy online, this would really be possible at JB Hi-Fi. See this section of the Gift Card FAQ for more information.

Thanks Vantage. Great link. Don't think I'll go for the 81 cards record, but good to know I can redeem that many instore.

  • I'm assuming no issues in using Cinema Card in Gold Class and candy bars or ticket purchases for any cinema?

  • Can you buy these with the ShopBack Supermarket Gift Card?

  • Actually it does, I did it yesterday.

  • +1

No but I think it is good to do it. If you lose track of one of them they will resend you. TCN much better to deal with than Blackhawk.
