If you want it to stay colder for even longer, get an ice jacket for it, freeze the jacket and the bottle stay super cold for the day.

It's a double wall vacuum insulation bottle.
An ice jacket is kind of pointless because the bottle is insulated.

If you want it to stay colder for even longer just add a few ice cubes inside the bottle.

  • Found it for $40 on ebay. Great buy!

That price is ridiculous. May as well get a vacuum flask from Kmart: https://www.kmart.com.au/search/?searchTerm=Vacuum+flask. I used to have a Thermos as a kid my mother put soup in for school in winter. It was always lukewarm by lunchtime. So when I bought one of the 950ml Kmart ones a few years ago I thought they would lose heat even faster. But I put some hot chocolate in it once and hours later I spilled it and it scalded me like I'd just poured boiling water out of a kettle on myself.

        Your mum sounds great

        • Thanks Mr Obvious. The point is a) a huge price difference, and b) if someone wants something to keep food/drink hot/cold, then a vacuum flask will obviously hold it's temp even longer. Who cares if it's different if it does the same or better job cheaper.

          • @[Deactivated]: They are much more cumbersome and you need to unscrew a lid which can be used as a cup before popping open the lid IIRC

I thought of getting one but they are not practical for my use.

Please refer to me as Captain Obvious in future. I didn’t serve in the fictitious military to be referred to as Mr Obvious

            • @PlaunsJanus: You leave the cup off. Unless they've changed it the top has a press-button. No pulling the stupid thing open with your teeth or banging it closed again with your palm like you have to with energy drinks, etc so they don't leak. You just press, it pops up, you drink, press down again.

              • @[Deactivated]: Yup, that’s the one. I like the idea of having a cover over where you drink from but pressing something with my dirty work gloves is a no go. Unscrew a cap, take off my gloves, press a button and then repeat in reverse to close it.

I was very close to getting one but the Yeti Rambler in 1.9L, 3,8L has a large handle and a screw cap to open it and keep out contaminates and is much easier to clean…
                $200 though

Do you know of any cheap alternatives like that, I’m all ears

  • These are actually pretty decent, paint holds up a lot better than Frank Green bottles. Lid isn't anything fancy, but quite functional, and doesn't leak.

These are actually really solid. We got one last month. I believe it’s the retail price.

These sorts of things are also great for enjoying a coffee slowly over an hour without it getting cold. Space your dopamine hit out without the extra caffeeine from the second…..third…..

Once you do an insulated morning cuppa you'll never go back.

  • Frank Green?

I saw him change from purple to orange a few minutes ago.

Is it a deal or just everyday price (low-price)?

  • Bought 2 will see how they go in 37 degrees in Sydney tomorrow compared to a woolies insulated bottle

    • keep us updated

    • update?

      • Bought one today, very well built but leaks from the lid where the lid attaches :( Will exchange and see if it was just a one-off defect

        • Update: Went and exchanged it and the new one doesn't leak. Definitely worth it for the price!

  • Update, hit 40 degrees in my van but water stayed cold, mine doesn't leak so I'm pretty happy with it, going to turn my fridge right down and chill it even more
