I am looking for a gaming laptop to play RPH type games. I want to pay as little as possible to also prefer something on the slimmer side.

Probably not games like cyberpunk. I have a ps5 as well. More things like company of hero’s 3 and civilisations etc. More strategy I guess.
Can you point me in the direction of a good laptop. To be honest the bigger the screen the better is just don’t want super bulky. I don’t want to pay crazy amounts but havnt seen many laptop deals go on Oz bargains for a while.

Are you going to be using the laptop outside of the home, or is it going to be used purely at home only (i.e. you're not going to take it out and start a LAN party elsewhere etc)
If you're gaming at home and all you play is strategy games (where a few extra milliseconds latency is a non-issue), I'd look into building or buying a gaming desktop and then using a software like Parsec or Moonlight to stream the gameplay to whatever laptop you have (the spec requirements for streaming is very low, a discrete GPU is not required).
Then you could buy any laptop you want and it could be as lightweight as possible.
RTX 4050 Laptops start at $1100~$1200, you can check Mwave for a couple of examples. The cheapest RTX 4050 laptop I've seen was the Acer Nitro 16

To be honest most of the went over my head haha. I am not as tech savvy as I was but I can still hold my own in a tech convo usually.
To be honest part of the reason I fancy a laptop is just for the mobility around the house. Sit in the garden etc. I don’t really want a desktop if I can avoid it.
How urgent do you want this?
If time was not an issue, I'd tell you to wait for a RTX4050 laptop to go on sale.
If you want it now, I'd recommend the Nitro 3050 for $998.

If I was to wait for deals on the 4050 laptops do you think it will be around Black Friday? If so what would you consider looking at then?
I think the upgrades the RTX4000 series have over the RTX3000 series are worth the money.
If it was my money and I needed a laptop ASAP, I would ge the MSI Bravo.
If I could wait, I would get the Nitro 16 with the better Ryzen CPU and bigger screen (If it hit the previous sale price of $1100). 4050's also come with 6GB of video RAM!
I know the Nitro laptops are good. I assume the Bravo is alright from the specs.

Playing RPGs
If you play RPGMaker or GameMaker RPGs you can get away with a $200 laptop. If you want to play the latest bethesda games @ 4k native res you'll be pretty (profanity) regardless of how much you want to spend.

Not a great deal, $1,400 for a RTX 3050Ti is pretty bad considering RTX 4050 laptops have been ~$1,000 before.
At the lower price range, you won't find a device that's significantly lighter or slimmer than the Victus' 2.3kg weight, all of them will be around there or heavier. Won't find a 14" gaming laptop easily either.
JB Hi-Fi even with 'sales' are still crazily overpriced 99% of the time. The ticket price of '$1,899' is taking the piss. Past gaming laptop prices on OzB for reference
What RPGs are you playing OP? Cyberpunk 2077 is an RPG, but so is Stardew Valley.
