Woo, I'm gonna grab some car washing stuff!

    • Same :D

    Excludes "equipment"?

Could they have made it any more vague?

    • they should do a inclusion list instead…
I'm trying to pick up the following: spark plugs, shock absorbers, and brake pads. You guys reckon these would be on sale?

      • From past experience… generally, yep! Be careful with the shock absorbers though, you can often find them a LOT cheaper elsewhere (ebay, www.superoneauto.com.au, etc).

I'll buy spark plugs and oil on the weekend. I need new leads and shocks as well but I'll buy them elsewhere :)

        • Repco never seem to have stock of the leads I'm looking for! (last time was 99' V6 Toyota)
Gave up and bought some Bosch leads online.

they did'nt stock leads for a car over a decade old ? how dare they

A car isn't like a phone. Lots of people keep cars for ten years or more. Look around you when you drive - how many cars do you see are at least ten years old?

  • How convenient, I need to pick up some engine oil.

  • +5

Repco i've found to be quite a bit more expensive than supercheap or even kmart..

  • +2

Does this stack with the NRMA 10% discount?

    • No.

  • Need new headlights. About time!

    • +3

I don't know what car you drive, but seriously, don't bother with the headlights from the main stores. They tend to sell the crap brands. :( Get these instead:

      http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/New-Ver-100-H4-Philips-X-treme-xt…

(in whichever "H" model your care needs… I've got an older commodore which needs H4's. These are freaking awesome headlights).

      • I've been using the Narva Plus 50:
        http://narva.com.au/products/browse/performance-globes

But they only seem to last less than a year, at times just a few months. Next time I'll use latex gloves to see if it makes a difference.

        • I'm not a fan of the Narva ones. :) But yes, are you touching the globes with our bare fingers? Big no-no there :D Always wear latext gloves when you change light bulbs.

        • absolute best globes ive ever used, ever, was Osram NightBreakers.

          Cheap from the UK

Saw "Whopp" and got excited that it was another $2 whopper deal :(

Where do i get cheap tyres?

    • Depends where you are! :)

    • Decent brand 2nd hand ones with ~50% tread go quite cheap on gumtree/ebay

    • Tempe tyres.

    • I just got these, not sure if they what you call cheap, but best price I could find - http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=25…

Find out what size your car tyres are and get on the phone and call a few tyre places. They usually have unadvertised specials.

  • Can I ask when you stuff like oil - do u change it itself or there are shops which let u provide the oil?

    • ive always changed mine myself, always oil and filter at the same time. its really quite easy on most cars with some basic tools. but most places will let you supply your own oil as well, tho this tends to work out more expensive than just using there oil.

  • I need to get oil for my 1992 mazda. Would probably need a thicker oil. Which grade of oil should I get? I have absolutely zero knowledge when it comes to automotive stuff. Thanks!

    • +1

Nearly any car that age would be happy with 20w-50. It's available in many brands. If you list the model (323, bravo, etc.) someone may know the exact oil specified.

    • +1 for 20-50

  • Is this deal for all states? I just went to my local store in Queensland and they knew nothing about this deal.

    • The Albion QLD store had signs outside advertising the discount.
