Does Removing Your Linked Westpac Card Void All Pending Cashback?

ShopBack gives you a pretty terrifying warning when you try to remove a payment method from your account: "You'll no longer earn Cashback when you pay with this card, and any pending Cashback and progress towards loyalty rewards on this card will be lost."

My question is, has anyone removed a payment method before (card expired, cancelled etc.) and not had all pending transactions paid with that card completely voided? I'm especially paranoid as this is a Westpac card specifically and I've got a fair few Westpac bonuses still pending. Many thanks

If that’s what it says then that’s what it’ll do. What’s the question here?

I'm guessing you don't take outside food into the cinema because the rules say so?

I'm asking for people's actual experiences because this rule doesn't make sense to me, the transactions have already happened so to cancel them all retrospectively just because you changed your card sounds a little extreme.

      • because this rule doesn't make sense to me

Not sure how it doesn’t make sense? It’s quite simple IMO.

Either way, you should be contacting Shopback’s customer service team. OzBargain is not an at call customer service team OP.

First time i did it, they confiscated our food so we never done it again.

        maybe ask @gotyourback?

  • Pending cashbacks will be lost. /thread
