Sat down next to its VP of Marketing a few days back in a Qantas lounge. The company who owns Bluey, has made an absolute (profanity) ton of money.
Ironically not from Australia, but in the United States. The market share is growing out of control.
It's super (profanity) isn't it. Great that Australia is in the limelight but when does it get to the point where too much is too much.
And wouldnt you know it, that company is currently being bought out by corporate America….. (profanity)
The real crime is that the ABC had the chance to own Bluey and they said no, because they couldn't afford it. The ABC could be funding itself off Bluey right now.
Great lesson for why austerity is a (profanity) stupid policy and any politician who trots it out is full of shit.
I'm happy for them to get theirs. They've struck lightning in a bottle, why wouldn't you cash in.
I remember when it first hit, it went ballistic within weeks/months. The studio only ever thought it'd be this cute little cartoon and never even considered merch. You couldn't get any thing Bluey branded for the better part of the year. We paid $10 for crochet patterns from Etsy and had my mother in law crochet a Bluey and Bingo for our lad because he (we) was so obsessed.
Anyway, I've seen some braindead stuff take the world by storm. Bluey is one of those things that I'll willingly dive head first into consumerism over.

I have no issue with this. Get that cash if you can. Good chance it won’t be a high quality game but same could be said for all the paw patrol games and the kids still loved them.
It probably won’t be an awful game. Barring the shadow lands board game most of the bluey stuff has been decent.
I don’t see what’s so bad about milking something from Australia that’s popular.

I love Bluey but when I saw this announced, I winced.
Irrespective of how great the story is on this one, it's a cash cow now.
