Asus Zenfone 10 Released in Australia

JB Hi-Fi now have the Zenfone 10 on their website available for delivery or C&C. RRP has increased by $100 from the previous generation to $1299, with the base model now having 256GB of storage. Announcement for those who have asked about the 10 in zenfone 9 posts. This shouldn't be as low as the Zenfone 9 $599 (or less than $500 with gift cards) in a long time. No significant upgrades from the 9 either so those who purchased the 9 got the better value device. Only differences are:

  • Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 vs 8 Gen 2
  • Higher pixels on the selfie (12 vs 32) but loss of 4K video in the 10
  • Wifi 7
  • 15W wireless charging added to the 10, no wireless on the 9

Comments

  • Nice I have always had a soft spot for the Zenfone. It looks so nice. My previous issue with them, was that they did not have wireless charging, which looks like it is rectified in the 10.

However too late, I have already set my heart on Pixel 8 Pro. And I think it will be the same price, might as well go with the Pixel.

If I was going for the same size, I would go with the Pixel 8. I just don't think the camera is going to be up to the same standard on the Zenfone. I think Pixel 8 will be quite a bit cheaper too.

    • I'd go 8gen2 over tensor g3 simply because gen2 is made by TSMC and g3 is made by shitty Samsung process node.

    • If the Pixel 8 Pro delivers on what has been rumoured on camera, battery life and support, I'm jumping from iOS. Usually non-Apple phones see some decent discounts so hopefully black friday or boxing day will get it somewhere near $1k.

  • Waiting to see if wifi-calling works on Telstra.

  • my ZF8 is still doing great !

  • +1

anyone know if asus still uses their own apps as oppose to stock google apps? like dialer, calendar, calc, etc? ive used their rog phone before and i know that one uses asus' own apps which i prefer than google's, especially the dialer since it has builtin recording

  • The other difference is one being older, so a shorter software support.
