I Need to Sell a Bulk Lot of PCs - What Is The Best Way?

I purchased a bulk lot of PCs to resell as a way of making a bit of money on the side. While it has been relatively easy, I am now moving and can't cart them to the new place. Don't really want to drop the price to cost (on marketplace) as it will still take some time to shift them all, and people negotiate no matter what. Would be happy to sell at cost in bulk.

What is the best way to resell the as one bulk lot? I don't think marketplace would be good and I tried Gumtree and got people asking to buy one. Located in Melbourne, is there a company that would buy them all?

If it matters, the computers are:

HP Elite Desk 800 - i5 - 4gb (some 8gb) - 500gb - Selling on MP beween $100- $140 - approx 20 left.
Dell SFF Optiplex 9020 - i5 - 4gb - 500gb - selling for $100 - approx 15 left.
Dell Lattitude laptop - specs TBC as I haven't tried to sell these.

Any ideas welcome!!

I think you’re going to have to take a hit if you want someone to buy it as a bulk lot…

Bulk = auctions. But no way youll get those prices.

You are selling those for way too much. Check out some of the past deals on here.

    • I have seen some of the deals and yet it seems to have not made a difference to the prices on MP/ Gumtree

  • Sorry - should have been clearer. Happy to take a hit on price, certainly not going to expect those prices for someone to take the lot as there would be no incentive.

    • Cash converters then. But thats a big hit.

      • Not the worst idea though.. I wonder what they would offer me for a couple at each store, I dont think they would want 20 at one store
        Thanks mate

  • Greys online

    • I'd expect only $19 - $49 each on grays.

  • Put them cheap on gumtree and sell them one at a time?

You won’t get much for them in a bill lot, easier to sell a handful then donate the rest.

Where did you buy them in bulk in the first place? seems like the best place to off load them to the next person.

  • Bulk discount offer on eBay otherwise its bulk to the Local Tip for Free E-Waste. I know it sucks as they are all working, but they aren't the greatest spec. I've been through this recently and was like, "can't be bothered". Took some of the parts I wanted (like RAM) and dropped the rest.

      Yeah agree, thanks man.
Sorta that too good to throw away but too slow to sell individually
Perfect for a grandparent to send emails but they dont spend much time trawling marketplace

Sounds like a free advertising post to get rid of personal trash

Throw them all on ebay. Yes there's fees but you'll sell them all within 5 days nearly guaranteed.

Great idea actually, that might be the best way forward here.
      Thanks for the constructive comment

Dump them onto Marketplace/gumtree and just accept it. Demand isn't like what it was during covid.

  • Where did you thunk you'd sell them before you bought them? What was your exit strategy here?

    • I have sold over 50% of them on marketplace, it is just trickling through one every week or two.
Now I either get a storage unit or sell as a bulk lot

  • I Need to Sell a Bulk Lot of PCs - What Is The Best Way?

List them on ebay, then post a 'deal' here to clear them out!

    • I wonder if that is allowed, thanks for the idea

  • OzB classifieds

  • Just post as a deal here with some token 10% off code.

  • Just curious, where do you source them from? Or I guess that's the trade secret?

    • bulk lot auctions, I went to one 15 years ago in Brisbane, I was going to bid on a pallet of used pcs, I got chatty with one of the auction it tech support guys and he said the pallets normally go for ~~$700-$800

      opening bid $1500

    • Yeah places like grays auctions or Pickles auctions often have bulk lots
