  • Is it any way I could get the westpac bank card instantly for this deal?

    • +2

      https://www.westpac.com.au/personal-banking/bank-accounts/tr…

Your Choice account could be active in less than 3 minutes.

Choice makes buying, paying, and withdrawing cash simple and convenient, even before you’ve received your debit Mastercard.

      • Use the digital card in the Westpac App while waiting for the plastic one to arrive. The CVC refreshes every 24 hours for extra security

        $5 monthly fee if you’re old :(

        • I wonder what would happen if you had $0 in that account and it tried to charge you a monthly fee.

        • +2

waived for Customers that deposit at least $2,000 each month. maybe automate some in and out from ing /ubank to satisfy both criterias

          • @CyberMurning: Thanks.

I know this deal is over but just to clarify about the waiving of fee. I can just automate to deposit 2k on one day and then send it out and transfer it back to my savings account after a few days and that will count to waive the fee right? I don't need to hold it or grow it there?

            • @ozchobie: no need to wait a few days - a few seconds/minutes/hours is enough :)

    • How would you transfer money into the account before the end of the day

Some decent deals if the following are eligible (prices shown are after the 2 combined cashbacks):

      • Philips airfryer HD9861/99 ~$321.93
      • Breville coffee machine BES870 ~$477.52

15% Westpac Bonus cashback (cap $50): all-day today

      • +1

        👍🏼 let's agree to disagree

I still think most people are interested in the full cashback, stacked on top of 12% off. The only time these all happen simultaneously is between 9pm and 11.59pm today

        • +1

of course most people want the full cashback, but the deal must still reflect all inclusions / each component :)

  • Is it possible to get a giftcard with a cashback on shopback, then use that giftcard from shopback to checkout on the 12% off?

  • Is the Westpac bonus legit? For the coles order I made 8 hours ago, the 0.5% standard bonus tracked but i don't see anything at all about the 10% Westpac bonus.

      • +2

It was 10% for Wednesday, and @Bladeyyy21 I got mine ok.

Stacked it with the $25 off $100 footy specials and a 4000pt 1st order. Final cost will be $55 for $200 worth of stuff. Pity a flybuys weekly offers weren’t an added bonus

        • Oh wow that's awesome. I've really gotta open up a rewards account.

Also the 10% got tracked just now. Looks like the payment had to process first because it was a delivery order, as Videlity stated below.

        • I made a chemist warehouse order last night with the Westpac bonus - the base cashback tracked OK but nothing about the bonus yet

I've used the bonus on some Uniqlo orders previously and they've been OK but first time for CW.

Hopefully comes through soon or I'll need to raise a request.

          • @Shadowsfury: CWH’s bonus WP cashback usually comes almost immediately after the standard cashback has been tracked, for me. But give it ~24hrs and keep an eye.

            • +2

@noelhoi: For me the standard cashback tracked instantly after payment, but the bonus tracked immediately after the payment was processed (which happened the next day). Got a notification from westpac that the payment was made and then a minute later a notification from shopback about the bonus cashback.

The payment was likely processed the next day because it was for next day delivery.

    • +1

The Westpac part tracks when it deducts from your account - usually when it's been processed.

      • Yup, you're right. It just got tracked now. Cheers

  • What Westpac card do people use for this? Is the Flex Mastercard Card recommended?

    • +1

Mine is just the normal Debit MC that came with my offset account..
This lists the eligible cards, don’t think you need to go outta your way deciding which is best as the eligibility is same, unless you prioritise point earn I guess.

      • Ok, guess along those lines is there any benefits of one over another. Only looking to use it for these shopback cashbacks really. The Flex one says no monthly fee and no interest charged but is there a catch?

        • why go for credit card if debit card also eligible ? or you dont mind a credit check and losing borrowing power or desperately need a credit card?

          • @CyberMurning: Mainly as it's the only one I could see that has no fees at all, and the convenience I guess. I wouldn't be doing any actual banking with Westpac, just use it for the cashback deals. What would you recommend?

Also how do I loose borrowing power? I only currently have one credit card and it's always payed off in full.

        • Do westpac choice debit

          • @ippy: we dont get any interest on that account, right?

            • @CyberMurning: No interest thats just normal savings transaction account, but have to deposit $2k monthly to waive $5 account fee. Not mind blowing albeit abit of (bearable) inconvenience since I have to do it for HSBC too anyway..

          • @ippy: You need to hold $2000 on that account though right? else there's monthly fees that I don't want as I'm not planning on using Westpac for any real banking.

            • @pixxelpusher: Lol if you need to hold it in there nobody would use WP mate. All these sorta reqs from diff banks generally just need to register that 2k incoming funds that reflects on txn history. You’re free to take it straight back out. I keep my WP balance <$1 otherwise needed for checking out via SB for upsized/bonus cashback (Chemist WH, MYER, ShopBack GCs being the main reasons)

              • -1

@noelhoi: Thinking about it more that could be a downside of debit as moving money into the Westpac transaction account to catch these deals may take too long. They seem to expire in an hour or two and it can take over half a day for transfers from my main bank account to show up for me. While credit card would be instant.

                • @pixxelpusher: Lol its instant with osko. And westpac's osko limit is very high too. So i send 2k in and out immediately.

When there is a deal, i send money in and buy whatever i need. Today it was cotton on 35% total cb. Too easy

                  • @ippy: Not doubting westpac's speed. I mean sending from my bank into westpac would take half a day or longer. No osko on my account. Rabo are really slow, the slowest I've experienced. But with them for the high interest at the moment. If osko was an option then debit makes sense and I'd do the same. Not sure though why credit is seen as so bad? No interest, No fees. No need to move money.

                    • @pixxelpusher: Rabo premium saver? you could do better (and with a real bank with osko). See here for comparison https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/145iM6uuFS9m-Rul65--e…

unsolicited advice but i have like 3 main bank accounts i juggle, cant have all eggs in one basket.

People dont like unnecessarily signing up for credit cards. Your credit report takes a hit and its not worth it for shopback, when there's better alternatives.

                      • @ippy: No, Rabo HISA at the moment. Good no fuss rate, but wasn't expecting the super slow transfers. With them until the rate runs out.

Yes fully aware of the spreadsheet, it's great, I've been using it for years to get the highest rate I can :)

I've never noticed having a credit card affect anything. Where would it be an issue? I've been living on one most of my adult life, I just clear it at the end of the month. Makes life simple, keeps all my transactions centralized and means I don't have to juggle bank accounts (now only have bank accounts for the high interest). Also means all my money is mine for the month which increases bank interest earned, which at the moment basically pays for what's on my card, it all balances out.

How is the 17% cashback and 15% westpac bonus cashback work?
Eg. Is it 17% first and then 15% or 32%?

And will the 12% off promocode allowed with this offer?

    • say you buy an item for $100, you would get $17 + $15 each off the total, so $32 discount

  • Anyone price matched in BL? Will they provided discount code or basket link like JB. Can we apply 12% code after price match ?

    • I want to know the same

    • You’ve to assess it via ShopBack, so any links that’s given via price match wouldn’t work

  • Has anyone utilised the Welcome20 code alongside cash back from Bing Lee? I’m worried it would invalidate the cashback if it is not an approved coupon code

  • where can I find the Westpac Bonus? I do not see it in my Westpac reward. Shall I just use Westpac card?

    • The Westpac bonus is associated with ShopBack and should be in the Westpac Lounge via ShopBack

    • If you have an eligible card, have to LINK it to your SB account and only then you’ll see it under Earn More tab I believe

      • How is the cashback credited? I think I used it a few times but don't see any CB

  • Can I do multiple purchases to avoid $70 and $50 caps? Or they add on to the total cap?

    • It didn’t say it’s capped per user, so it’s safe to assume it’s capped per transaction

    • But multiple transactions mean multiple delivery costs..?

      • Click and collect is free

    to get most discount:
% of purchase value - buy something around $366.65.. it will get you full $50 Westpac Bonus & $56.66 cashback (about ~29% cashback of inc. GST price)
$ of purchase value - buy something around $452.94.. it will get you full $50 Westpac Bonus & $70 cashback (about ~26.5% cashback of inc. GST price)

    • So essentially an item between $350 and $450. That actually helps me quite a bit.

      • I think the price he quoted is post 12% discount though.

So you can look for 12% on top of the $350-450 range to maximise discount?

      • +3

For example, Dyson hair dryer is $499

        Minus 12% discount: -$59.88

The price you pay Bing Lee: $439.12

Minus 15% Cashback on pre-gst component: -$50 (capped)

        Minus 17% Cashback on pre-gst component: -$68.43

        Final price after cashback: $320.69

      It's from 9pm

  • Anyone know if the digital Westpac credit/debit card can be tracked successfully with shopback?

The digital card number is the same as the physical card but the dynamic CVC changes every 24 hours. Not sure if this would void the digital card and hence cashback, given you're meant to hold the same valid card until the cashback is confirmed (after 105days).

    • The sole purpose of the CVC is to authenticate the transaction. It won’t be used by 3rd parties to track to a specific card

      • Thanks for the reply.

My thinking is that if I purchased using the digital card tonight (with certain CVC), and decided to link in the physical card next week when it arrives in the mail (with the same card number but different CVC), will I have to remove the digital card that I have already linked? Or will I be able to have both cards linked simultaneously even though they have the same card number?

        • +1

It will be seen as the same card. You shouldn’t need to replace it.

If you were to try and add again I would assume their system will either replace it as the exact same card or reject the new addition as it will say the card already is attached to your shopback account

    • I'd be interested to know what card you went with?

      • Opened a Westpac choice account this morning. Got it processed within an hour or 2 and have the debit MasterCard (digital) ready to roll.
