  • My recollection is eBay is only on 'gift', so not available for this promotion. Please let me know if I've missed something.

    • It's weird that on the TCN gift site it says it's usable at ebay but on the flybuys TCN gift it doesn't

        Yeah I noticed that last time I looked. I did previously redeem for the Gift to use on eBay but it’s like they have a special version now that excludes ebay. @WookieMonster any insight?

          I have redeemed for 'Gift' and converted to Ebay gift cards earlier this year.

          From the Flybuys page: "Valid ONLINE only at: Adore Beauty, ASOS, ebay, Princess Polly, The Oodie and White Fox"

          So still seems to be usable for ebay.

          They never do this promo in the 'Gift' card that I've seen

  • Anyone used The Broadsheet GC before? I'm wondering if it's better than The Restaurant GC since it would cover restaurant, cafe and bar category code.

      According to their terms, the Restaurant GC is supposed to cover both Restaurants (MCC 5812) and Drinking places which includes Bars (MCC 5813).
      Despite what their terms say, it is also reportedly working for Fast Food (MCC 5814) on the digital version.

      Haven't tested that card myself but the above means you can't really get much better than the Restaurant Card (Except Restaurant Choice)

        Unfortunately Restaurant GC (even digital version) no longer works for 5814.

        • does it mean it can't be used at KFC, mccas? Have you tried this recently?

      I redeemed TCN Restaurant, it can swap to digital. Broadsheet seems only physical use.

  • Any card that I can use at an Accor hotel to settle the bill? The hotel card only works by booking through their website.

    I tried to look for but couldn't find this information, though I am assuming that if you redeem 3 * $100 gift card in one transaction then you will get 3*2000 = 6000 points (going by the line - an account can get max of 20,000 points), Or if it is 2000 points per transaction. Can someone please confirm on this.

      I've used the previous equivalent promotions twice before and the points were received per card even though multiple cards in one transaction.

      However the first of those times I initially received points for a single card only and had to contact them to request them to fix it, which they did without issue.

      I haven't carefully read the terms again for the current promotion but based on previous experience have purchased multiple cards again in a single promotion.

    • I got my points today. I ordered multiple cards in one transaction and all points are tracked. It seems they have started issuing points from today.

    Has anyone received the bonus points? I made the order on 9th October. I am aware how Flybuys is a bit old school and slow to update but just wondering.

      • @test8888…Worth calling them up and checking, they're supposed to deliver the cards to you within 3 weeks. I did not get the postal tracking number, but the status of the order was changed to 'sent' in flybuys account.

      • finally received 2days ago. they sent in plain mail, no tracking at all.

        activated & swapped to digital, found TCN app updated, now it can hide all 0 balance card.

    I think it's about 4 weeks now. Time to contact Support.

    • What does it say in your order summary (link in your order confirmation email)? Does it say processing or sent? Ordered mine on 9th October and received it last week but it sat on Processing for 2 weeks

    Just wanting to avoid customer support going "I have no idea what you're talking about" when we reach out after 6th Nov, 4 weeks after the expiry of this deal.

  • lol wtf so I contacted Flybuys via LiveChat, after what seemed like an eternal wait, they got back and pretty much apologised and to pass this on to support and then just closed my live chat.

            @Womble01: So they replied to my request.

            We are emailing you regarding the missing bonus points.

            As per the promotions Ts and Cs; Bonus points from the TCN Gift card promotion, valid 26/09-09/10, will be credited to qualifying members’ accounts no later than 4 weeks after the promotion end period. Therefore, the bonus points should be automatically credited by the end of this week.

            • @firestint: The "should be" comment sounds like they're not going to proactively do anything. It sounds like they think the 4 weeks isn't up yet and that all is fine, just need to wait until the stated timeframe for the points to be automatically credited.
              Which of course is wrong. I would reply to point out the T&C's state "no later than 4 weeks after the promotion end period" and that it was 4 weeks yesterday.

  • Have anyone received the bonus points? It's been 5 weeks since promotion ended. They don't seem to be serious about crediting the bonus points.

  • In response to a request for an update I'd sent on Friday, I received an email today stating

    Please be advised that we can see the bonus points were added to your account on 13/11/2023.

    I don't see it in the transaction history yet, but I think my total points include the missing bonus points. The total points get updated before the transaction history so this looks normal. I'm expecting I'll see it on the transaction history tonight.

          • @dealsgrabber: It just gets processed as a card payment at the checkout so I believe we should be able to buy gift cards.

              @tbone74: In my experience (including when I tried last week), if you are purchasing a gift card at Coles and attempt to use Flybuys Dollars as a payment method, as soon as you swipe a Flybuys card on the EFTPOS terminal:

              • You will get an Invalid Product Mix error on the EFTPOS terminal screen.

              • If you are attempting this as a self checkout, you will also get a wall of text on the main checkout screen essentially telling you that you cannot use that payment method for at least one of the items you are trying to purchase.

                • @tbone74: It is worth a try, because who knows whether someone at Coles will stuff up an IT change one day and accidentally allow you to use Flybuys Dollars in that scenario, but I am merely warning you that you will most likely be blocked!
