I have some Cygnett smart plugs and they are rubbish. Never work when you want them to, can't contact Cygnett home.

    • I bought some from the $10 BigW deal a few months ago to use with homekit and they have been great.

      • Yep, with HomeKit they are rock solid for me.
I’ve also got a tonne of other smart devices across all vendors, it’s my addiction.
Just make sure you get a solid router, don’t cheap here or you will forever have dropout issues.

  • I have a few Cygnett branded Zigbee devices I've been using with Home Assistant using the 3rd party Zigbee coordinator. According to Home Assistant they are Sonoff electronics with different plastic casings and badges.

I am pretty unimpressed with their reliability, compared to the Aqara devices I also have deployed - they constantly drop off the network and need to be manually re-added.

    • Yep the buttons themselves are pretty average.
Picked up quite a few with the clearances recently.
But again this is dependent of your zigbee network I suspect.
I’ve yet to move any of my hue stuff as it’s bulletproof and don’t want to introduce problems.

  • I have to agree with the other comments, I have about 10 full colour smart bulbs from Cygnett and over the course of the past 3 years they have all died.

The Cygnett app is terrible, but they do work well with homekit - until they don't work anymore. Seem to be quite random in when they die.

  • My cygnett zigbee button (using zigbee2mqtt) died within 6 months whereas my xiaomi ones are going strong after 4 yrs so I also don't recommend
