Can anyone confirm if cashback tracks on multiple transactions or only 1 per account?
My tracking from the last Expedia deal has just changed from the correct number to $0.0. Just a warning!
Have you raised a ticket or anything about this? Curious why this would happen.
Not yet. Literally just noticed it due to this deal. Noticed other people had posted similar in the last thread for this type of deal as well.
Or even made a forum post?
Maybe stating the obvious but in case someone doesn't realise, you'd need to prepay to get the westpac bonus.
Can we stack with promo codes?
Wow, nice saving :)
Just remember - the cashback isn't as good as you may think. These sites like expedia/agoda etc show a different (higher) price if you go through cashrewards/shopback as opposed to going directly through them.
So yes in the long run you might save, but not exactly 14.5%

There can sometimes be a higher price going through CR or SB. I always check it, and most of the time there is no difference.
You really don't want to buy something based on cash back.
As it can be unreliable.
Yep noticed this last time something like this popped up
Precisely my experience
Depends on the property/portal. Some do, some don't. Definitely something to keep an eye out for but I have booked plenty via CR/SB with the same price on Expedia directly.
Never had an issue with price changes with Expedia, only booking.com
True so we end up just buy directly without cashback rather saving $10 or $20
I have 2 hotels in Singapore booked with Expedia, pay later, for $170-$180. Same hotels via Shopback are $220+. So, a marginal saving, upfront payment required, and who knows if the cashback comes through after you wait for it several months. Always worth checking though.
Yeah, I just realised. Looked at Hilton in Bali.. there is a $56 price difference which basically offsets the cash back amount. So not sure if going through is worth it.
I wouldn't bother.
It's either you get guaranteed discount going straight through the site or try your luck with cashback
Interestingly I am looking at the Conrad Bali and the rate for the room I am looking at is exactly the same, and is only $60 more for 8 nights compared to going direct (before cashback). Given it is uncapped (for the 14.5%), quite a material saving, but must admit still feels like a lottery to me on whether or not it will all work out.
Ya! And the rates are different if you compare rates through tripadvisor and with shopback
Don’t trust Shopback. It’s not reliable when it comes to hotel payment made at the hotel.
So over the price jacking.
Three different hotels, three different countries (Japan, Australia and Numea), all three cheaper to book elsewhere including the 14.5% cashback. I really wish the ACCC actually did their jobs as this is technically illegal, they just don't enforce it.
Disappointing price jacking. I was wanting to book some longer term accomodation and the price on Expedia is more than 20% higher than Booking.com!
How long for tracking normally? Nothing after 3 hours….
I am waiting since 6 hrs. No tracking email yet
Likewise - no tracking and it's been 6hours.
Should have read this post first re pricing being different if going direct rather than ShopBack!
Tracked in about 12 hours. There’s also $50 bonus expedia challenge.
Is it 24.5% or 23.05% when using the multiplier effect?
