Custom home builder for anyone wondering.
Choose a builder who isn't just as overextended with credit as you are. Maybe they will take longer to build or ask you for more money as costs rise, but at least you can be a bit more confident they won't suddenly go bankrupt. Can't go a week without reading about another builder going bust because they took out debts they can't afford to repay. Everyone wants to gamble the farm to come out ahead and that includes builders too it seems. The luxury houses going up around me may take years to go up, but they do go up eventually.
Problem is two parts:
- You get university educated architects who design stuff that is too much for the high school brains of builders and tradies
- Client expectations of the cost is wildly different than estimates of builders and tradies
- Everyone thinks they are right
Perfect storm right there.
If you want a custom build best to sit with builder and architect to design it. Otherwise someone will get it awfully wrong along the way and cost big time.

Arent Carter Grange and Boutique volume builders?
I dont have any experience with them myself but I have friends who have built with Evenwedge Homes and they seem to be pretty happy with the quality and workmanship.
Oztent will make custom designs
