better than Neutrogena T/Gel
for a plant-based alternative:
Nizoral is possibly better, but more expensive - try Sebitar first :)
ps did you end up buying a mattress protector?
It's $17 vs $22 don't mind spending $5 more if it's a bit better, I ended up getting a cheap one just for the meantime and still haven't decided which expensive one to buy yet.
note also different ingredients: pine tar, coal tar, salicylic acid vs ketoconazole
Ketoconazole which is the active ingredient in Nizoral will treat fungal issues and a range of other stuff possibly going on causing itching and flaking on your scalp.
Sebitar has some sacilyic acid in there which helps the tar get into the scalp.
Side effect of Sebitar is going to be it turns your hair to straw basically so you'll need to condition it.
My experience having psoriasis and dermatitis is to give Nizoral 2% (red one) a go, they sell a small bottle. You might find you only need to do it once or twice a week to get relief and then can use a gentle shampoo for the rest of the time.
Very surprisingly I'm happy with a shampoo by Palmolive
Try sebizole same thing just generic 200ml 2% for 16.99 @ chemist warehouse
@tonester: There are times the price drops at chemist warehouse to 13.99 also, I find the bottles tend to last awhile
"Side effect of Sebitar is going to be it turns your hair to straw basically so you'll need to condition it"
how quickly does that happen?! I haven't noticed that side effect yet
Many years ago I tried one of these very strong (and expensive) anti dandruff shampoo and I didn't it at all.
Then I tried Head & Shoulders and I never looked back, it just works, it doesn't smell medicine nor poison, you can choose different ones, it's always on sale (made in Thailand) and use it regularly as a normal shampoo.
I found head and shoulders to not help with my flaky scalp, where as tgel and ketoconazole did fantastic
Why do you say it is better than Neutrogena T/Gel?
more effective - if T/Gel isn't good enough, then try Sebitar
How many times a week do you need to apply this?
Tried this but didn't really work, also makes your hair smell really bad
