This game was worth it just for the top secrets boss battles

    • +2

only game I've Platinum'd and it was accidental. Wrung every drop out of it, a sublime game.

      • Did you get a good time on the top secrets?

        • +1

I can't remember the time element, I just remember Bahamut being a bitch >o<
Rebirth looks amazing. Can't wait to get into the Battle Arena in the Golden Saucer.

  • Looks like might be reprint stock which would be nice since copies were very scarce on release and ever since.

Pre-order for a 2 year old game, with placeholder date of 31st Dec 2023 though, so might get cancelled as incorrect listing. Esp with that generic title.

I have FF remake. Do I need this?

    • +2

This has the DLC on the disc, so, maybe?

    • +3

If you have the disc you can do a free upgrade to the PS5 version, and then wait for the DLC to go on sale. I picked up the DLC for about $20 a while back.

      • If I had PS4 disc version, transferred games + data to PS5, would I be able to use the PS5 Intergrade disc to play FF7 and use the code to install the DLC? (can i throw away the PS4 disc)

        • +1

Nah, you need the disc still unfortunately.

          • @lookingforTV: Is there a way to transfer the save file from FF7-Remake (PS5 upgrade version) to FF7 Intergrade? I'm just tempted to buy this deal + keep game progress somehow, and get rid of the PS4 disc

            • @Blitzfx: Sorry I misunderstood your question. I thought you wanted to upgrade PS4 version to PS5 and buy DLC (which is what I did) and I still needed the original disc. If you buy this, then yea you can get rid of your PS4 disc. I am not sure about save file transferability but the DLC story is almost like a standalone. So you could just play with PS5 upgrade version then when you are done play Intergrade with this disk version.

              • @lookingforTV: Yeah it's ok, thanks though. I was looking online and it's pretty confusing with how Sony treats the different versions but I think I have my head around all of it.

Just can't find any answers to my specific case as to whether or not using the PS5 Intergrade disc will allow me to keep playing my FF7-Remake(PS5 upgrade version) so I dont have to use the PS4 FF7 Remake disc

At this point I'm probably wasting more time than it's worth trying to save $20 + however much I can sell off the PS4 disc.

                • @Blitzfx: If you have FF7 Remake PS4 version, you are eligible for FF7 Remake PS5 upgrade for free, but you don't get the intermission expansion. You can carry PS4 saved games across, but the save game transfer allows you to pick 1 of the saved games to transfer across, rather than transfer every save game slots across.

This disc version for PS5 does work, but obviously you missed out on PS Plus FF7 Remake PS4 version. Sony initially blocked that version to get PS5 upgrade for free, then backtracked that and allowed it. I did buy FF7 PS4 disc version cheap to get the PS5 upgrade free, but when Sony removed the block for PS Plus "free" version to get PS5 upgrade, it was a bit of a pain to get Sony CSR to delete my "disc" version upgrade record in order to activate PS Plus digital version upgrade (so I don't need to insert disc to play FF7 Remake PS4 or PS5 version). I still don't get the intermission expansion.

Honestly, unless you really want to play intermission, it is not worth $40. This is in PS Plus Extra tier, when it was $1 for one month, I played intermission. Intermission is a standalone expansion. FF7 Rebirth coming up. You are better off saving that money towards FF7 Rebirth.

I think this is also included with PS deluxe and extra sub

  • Thanks op

So this is a remake of a remake of a remake?

    • +2

      No.

    • +1

      its dlc for the remake.

      • -2

        which remake

        • +2

          theres only 1 remake

          • -4

@RexyKzK: Don't care how you call it. I have seen a remaster, remake, remake dlcs and whole other crap that is confusing about this franchise. I just like the OG.

            • +1

@CptnObvious: haha thats fair, the OG was definitely a great game.

      • Its the Full base game + the DLC

  • Why is this cheaper than the Remake Intergrade?

  • So this is the PS5 version of all the FF7 remake stuff so far?

I haven't played the original game for like 20 years, was going to wait for all of the remake to be released but I don't think I can wait that long

    • +2

Well this is part 1 of FF7. Part 2 comes out next year, and at this rate part 3 will come out 2028 on the PS6.

  • So ps4 version is like smart delivery? How is this not a greatest hits or goty version?

  • -4

Terrible remake. Play the PS1 version.

    • +1

The ps1 version was better, true

      • +2

Yeah the graphics are much better on the ps1

    • +4

      Bad take. Both are great.

  • +3

I played the absolute shit out of the original game back in the day. I think it was the first game that took me over 40 hours to finish and I thought that was an insane amount of time.

So I was excited for the remake, but for some reason I just could not get into it. Ended up just stopping as I was not enjoying it.

    • +2

I also played the hell out of the original, and I still do. Play it every couple of years. I loved the remake so much, and I fire it up now and then. But it feels like a very different genre, so I get that many people can't get into it. Goose bumps on every Sephiroth scene though

    • +2

40 hours? Those are rookie numbers. I had over 99 hours on it almost every time I played.

Also yeah the remake is a totally different game.

    • +1

To get the gold chocboo it took me at least 80 hours! Your 40 hours is well, just the beginning lol

      • Oh yeah, I meant just how long it took me to finish the story initially. I definitely played more after that to get gold chocobo and do the different weapon fights.

  • +4

FYI, this game is currently included in PS plus, and if you pre-order Final Fantasy VII Rebirth(Part 2), you will receive part 1 and Intergrade DLC for free.

    • Hi, can you tell me where this pre order offer is? Is it unique to certain store?
I looked on Amazon and neither the normal or delux preorder say anything about the original remake and intergrade also being included. They have a bunch of other stuff though

      • I think they are talking about the Digital Pre order

      • This deal is digital only, there is a twin pack option on PSN for the same price

  • +2

    Can I borrow someone's ps5

    • +1

      What's your home address?

  • Does this version have its own set of trophies and achievements? I've already platinumed the PS4 FF7 Remake (without DLC)

    • The trophies for the base game are the same and will carry over but INTERmission (the DLC) has its own set of achievements.

  • This is back in stock this morning.

  • So why is this pre-ordered HD Remake cheaper than the normal Remake which is available now?
