F me - this is too much money for a phone.
It's an expensive hobby buying a new phone every year.

      • Have to sell both kidneys

        • Some 17 yo sold one of his kidneys for iPhone 4 and ipad2 many years back. Second kidney failed. Mega oof

      • yeah i want one to retire my 11pro but having a hard time justifying,

      • +1

why would you buy every year? people usually buy every 4-5 years

        • Talking about Apple fanbois.
Me - I use my offspring's castoffs. Good enough for what I need.

          • +2

@Weshouldgetsushi: I'm an apple user, upgrading from ip11, such an ignorant thing to assume all apple users upgrade yearly. majority don't . ip11 came out same time as galaxy s10 just to give you a perspective, I would keep this for at least 4 to 5 years before upgrading again. quality over quantity

anyone who buys $3k phone should hand in their ozbargain membership

TBF I'm an Android user who's going to convert when the iPhone Fold comes out (only because our work helpdesk app doesn't work on Android).

My co-worker uses the 7-11 app and saves about $20 a week by using the chopper which can't be done on Android. That's $1,040 a year.

      • You can use the copper on Android. Just a bit of faffing around to get it going.

        • I've tried with the Fake GPS app and it just comes up saying that it's detected a fake location has been used so I just use my iPad instead. Just a pain as I don't always have it with me.

      • That's $1,040 a year

That is just working for Apple isn't it?

      • …saves about $20 a week by using the chopper….

I don't understand. :-) What is "chopper" referring to? What exactly is the $20 per week about?

If you have an ios device you can change your gps location and lock in at the cheapest in Australia. Note that 7-11 are trying to cut down on this.

          • @Chmmr: Ah ok, thanks. Bargain hacks and exploits. Makes sense considering the 7-11 app tracks and sends your data to third party marketers on the sly. Justifies a bit of own medicine from users. Government today gloating about surplus, meanwhile my nearest 7/11 petrol is $2.25 per litre.

    • Sorry (hands in badge)

    • +2

lol but those who have experienced the difference beg to differ, you save money in the long run, it lasts longer than android, it sells for more when its time to upgrade too. even after 3-4 years it still sells for 40-50 percent its cost when it was new. in that duration of 1 iphone you might have upgraded your android twice

  • I want to direct a Sci-fi movie about the human condition in Outback Australia.

Should I get an iPhone, DSLR, or vlogging camera? Budget is $1500 (price of the cheapest new iPhone)

    • +5

      Your username solves your problem.

      • Dashcams. Saving me money when I least expect it to.

    • +2

When you need excellent bokeh and zoom…DSLR with 20-70+ quality lens.

    • I've seen some sony a6000s series cams going for pretty low on fb marketplace. saw a a6400 listed with stock lens for 350

      • jesus, that's an insane price for the 6400. Still a really excellent camera

        • just checked the screenshot i took, it was an a6000, still pretty decent, considered picking it up but i already have 2 different camera systems (FE/FUJI)

    • Should try a mirror-less for video. Maybe find one sony a6000s series with a 16-50 lens and a tripod.

    • I don't think your comment is serious, but iPhone 14 Pro is what you want. It's still $1547 new… or perhaps find a used one cheap.

But then you'll need additional cage, grip, and anamorphic lens if you want to shoot wide screen. Lens filters, and a gimbal and other movie-making attachments.
Without all those attachments, you have a phone camera not a movie camera. Nobody has ever made a good movie with "just a phone".

  • Can anyone share where link for ultimate gift card. TIA

  • $2000 for a 256gb phone, people are too rich nowadays.

  • Hi OP, how do you get 15% off the ultimate giftcards? TIA

  • +7

    The iPhone 15 Pro 512GB is $2397

THATS AN AMAZING $2 SAVINGS FROM RRP

    GET IT NOW FOLKS

    • +3

      should have gone to specsavers

      additional 15% ultimate gift cards

  • +3

That's just too expensive for a phone.

    • +1

dont buy it, tell everyone you know not to buy it too, its too expensive

  • If you are stuck in the Apple Ecosystem, you will buy this at this price. Tim knows this and he will exploit it as much as he can

    • You can still choose to stick with older generations

      • For people who are looking to upgrade to the latest version

        • For Type-C thats understandable maybe?

  • Rather buy a Galaxy Z Fold 5 for less than the price of an iPhone 15 Pro 512GB model

  • I don't know why they were so hesitant about USB-C because that was the only thing holding me back.

    • +3

Because usb c is an industry standard which mean apple can't rape their user base on proprietary cables.

  • Any bargain here? Or is it bing lee promotion?

  • +1

????Officeworks has this price since the release day, how could this be a bargain…

  • what year will it reach 5k for an i phone?

    • When iPhone 20 launches..

  • does anyone know if the natural titanium is painted or the white titanium? they cant be both unpainted right? one of them has paint im trying to figure out which
i ordered the black yesterday and while i wait im having second thoughts as i know it does not hide scratches well

  • 15% off gift cards makes JB or Officeworks much cheaper

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/800798

  • JB has additional voluntary warranty, does OW/TGG have?

    • Are you talking about extended warranty? Pretty sure they don’t do it for iphones. They direct to apple care +

    • I couldn't care less about what time period a company attempts to stipitate for a warranty period.

An item worth $2,500.00 would be expected to last 3 or more years

  • Stupid question. Just bought 2200 worth of Ultimate gift cards but dont know how to use them to make payment at OW. Can anyone tell me how to apply multiple gift card at checkout? or I need to go instore and get the staff to do it?

    Edited:

OW not even taking order in store at the moment. Can I do it with JbHifi?

    • Why don’t you call them and ask?

    • Did it with JB Hi-Fi earlier today. Put all the cards on your Apple Pay wallet and pay at the till in person.

      • You're lucky to find stock at JB Hifi. Most of the stores are OOS

        • No stock, did preorder with this.
