I can't believe how much bar runners cost these days! Needless to say, I was stoked when I found this. With warm weather on the way I'm looking forward to copious amounts of Long Island tea, margaritas and martinis, hopefully this helps my face from sticking to the bench when the journey bedroom is just too hard to navigate.

  There used to be a bar in Acland St in StKilda that charged $4.50 for a full shot long island iced tea.

  I’ve no idea why, the barman was not particularly friendly or interested in our likely inane conversation but I think around second visit, a few drinks down we asked and I didn’t understand it at the time but he seemed to think there was nothing about it that was abnormal.

  I will never forget that bar, and I raise my glass (again) to that barman. You live on in legend, I will love you forever.

    5 shots for $4.50 is insane, it's my go to drink if it's a menu item, usually the best deal you can get.

      I can only think he hated his boss. The gist I got was cocktails were a flat-rate special and although it wasn’t technically on the list he was happy to make it.

      I kept expecting him to say ok you’ve had your fun that’s enough but we always rolled out with way more than a sensible skinful and rocked back up another night and he was still keen to oblige.

      Could’ve been industry discount but he never asked where we worked that I can recall
