Hey guys need to travel to Perth would like to be there for a week or so and need to be there for the first weekend of December saw some flights on Jetstar for around 500 bucks return from Sydney was wondering if there’s anything cheaper or similarly priced on a better airline thx.

The only way to find out is to search the different flight aggregators and get an idea of what's available for what price. Just be aware that not all sites may display prices for all airlines.
December is peak period so I don't think you're going to have much luck finding anything "cheap", relative to other times of the year.
I'd avoid Jetstar.
I doubt if you find any direct flights. Virgin will take you often via Brisbane and Qantas Jetstar via Sydney/Melb
As it appears you are South of Newcastle CBD (Merewether) , you would probably be better catching train to Sydney given layovers,via change at Sydney, time of transport to Williamtown. Plus you've got more options with flight prices and hence times.
Yeah I believe it will be cheaper to just go from Sydney directly as they don’t run direct flights from Williamtown.
Ended up getting a jetstar flight return for $359.15 from Sydney
