can any1 with more knowledge than I give their input on this deal? is it that good?

    • same question

Another illegal electric motor bike, so you can get fines higher than any savings from it using it in public.

As for the bike, it's not a great design, with unnecessary extra weight and average components. Of course, that would still cost you more than this price so it's a 'bargain' in that respect - but a compromised one. Depends what you're looking for.

Oh, and when a website both sells something not legal in Australia, and runs fake reviews, it also tells you a lot about the product.

      • +3

You live in Sydney so this is legal due to the 500W motor limit. Everywhere else are unlucky with their 250W limit.

Certainly unusual for NSW to be progressive for once.

        • From what I've heard the cops in VIC are more interested in a 25km top speed than the power output.

          • @timtam-slam: Yeah typically they'll only check for speed. Good thing this is 25km out of the box.

        • +1

Nothing to do with the power. It's illegal as it is just like any other motor bike and has a throttle, and hence would require registration - except it's not compliant to be registered, hence making it illegal to use on public roads and spaces.

For the power limit to matter, an electric bike must be pedal assistance only. This is not.

          • @odysseus: According to the videos i watched, there was a pedal assist mode.

Also there is simple hack to unlock the speed to max which is 40kph iirc.

            • +1

@easternculture: It has both. You can use either - but having the throttle makes it non-compliant.

          • @odysseus: A pedal-assisted cycle has a legal limit of 200W in NSW. An electrically power-assisted cycle has a legal limit of 500W in NSW. This falls under the latter.

            Source

            • @Clear: Again, wrong. Your link proves my point, for the electrically power assisted cycle:
"cut off when: you stop pedalling and the speed exceeds 6km/h. "

Having a throttle means this point is not met, hence it does not comply.

              • @odysseus: Feel free to call the police on me. The legal limit in my state is 250W. I can tell you where exactly to direct them.

                • @Clear: Again, you're not comprehending what I wrote. It's nothing to do with the power.

                  • @odysseus: I just admitted that this is illegal in my state. Since you're so concerned about what others can and can't ride go and report me.

                    • @Clear: Way to twist what I wrote.

You got your panties in a knot about what you now admit was my correct statement. I made no comment about what others do, and you now try to twist it to put the blame on me, since you've been going on trying to argue the point.

                      • @odysseus: You said it was illegal and I said it was legal. Now you've proven I'm incorrect and it is infact illegal due to the throttle. Further to that I've said it's illegal in my state (hint: not NSW) and since you were so concerned about what's legal and illegal for people to ride in the first place, I'm saying you're welcome to report me.

That goes for all the others who come into these deals telling people what they can and can't do.

                        • @Clear: Saying something is illegal does not show I am "so concerned about what's legal and illegal"; it's just a statement of characteristic, as much as saying something is a good price or not. I only made 1 post about it - and even made other points about the build and said it's up to the buyer what they are looking for, far from your implication that it was only about legality.

Should I lecture you saying you're so concerned about whether someone gets a bargain or not if you say it's a good price?

Your comment is just a rant about anyone making any comments on a deal.

                          • @odysseus: You're correct. I'm ranting about people always saying how X is illegal.

                            • +1

@Clear: Which is at least as useful as saying a comment on the price or any other characteristic.

      • Oh, and when a website both sells something not legal in Australia

You can ride it on private property. For example, if you have a farm.

        it's not a great design

I think it looks dope. Those wheels would impress babes who are into bikes.

        and runs fake reviews

        Any proof

    Enter a valid discount code

    Hmmm

  • Code not working. Add to cart and than add code in payment page ? Am I missing something?

  • +1

The code was working and discounted the price, but has now stopped working.

  • +2

Now the code is inactive, gj to those who got it and luck to you it doesn't get cancelled
And for those who looked a gift horse in the mouth this thing would still have been over half price for a decent brand with $150 shipping…

  • +1

Ouch. I had the thing in cart with code but hesitated too long and missed out. Hopefully they honour this for those who managed to get through.

  • +4

Good Luck to everyone who managed to grab lifetime bargain.
Please share if it gets honoured.

  • Looks like a cool bike

  • +1

Would have been good for gym bike and local trip in peak traffic.
Would have paid itself off in 6 months

  • Noooo missed it

  • Tried something similar on the weekend on our private property. This is actually quite fast up to 25km/hr on the flat and more powerful than my other e-bike. Looking at the description - 500 cycles of rechargeable battery - that’s not a lot of use - roughly equal to $2 per ride before new battery is required. Am I reading it wrong? Now it’s $999.

  • They claim a 2.0m person would fit on this bike, laughable ! Your knees would be under your chin pedaling. 9 hours to charge an 11Ah battery, there's value for money - not…
Specifications go off the rails bottom of page. Good luck with this one.

  • did anyone manage to get this deal?

  • +4

They didn't honour it, my order got cancelled. They did however offer to sell the bike to me for $799..

    • +1

If it includes shipping and you are not in a state that they offer free shipping to, i would grab it.

Looks great fun offroad if its not legal in your state

      • Yeah it would have been fun, it's just that I was apart of the free shipping zone and also am 192cm tall so I would have been on the bikes limit in terms of size. They were very apologetic and issued the refund immediately.

  • Gah how did I miss this. Been monitoring this for the last few weeks.
