http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/80055As I said elsewhere. I can't find any reliable information on that monitor except that it is being sold in Asia and Africa which leads me to believe it isn't a premium monitor. And many of the Samsungs have no VESA mounts this one included.
how did you come up with the definition that products previously sold in Africa & Asia must be 2nd grade?
I didn't say 2nd grade just "not premium". Regardless I made an assumption based on the lack of credible reviews from the plethora of online sources that I usually turn to for information. It IS available in Australia but has not been submitted for review by anyone locally even by the multitude of amateur who post on tech forums that I can find. As an assumption I could very well be wrong but without any information it's hard for those of us who take a cynical view to be positive about such a product. If you have information to the contrary please feel free to contribute links.

Jeff. I'm the OP. Which means I asked a question. The point of this forum is to obtain information. A respondent made a suggestion and I replied. You have made no contribution except to offer an opinion about my opinion. Your purely subjective judgement of my comments aside, saying that the Dell monitors are Asian made is irrelevant to any of this. Are you suggesting the Samsung monitors mentioned are comparable in quality and specifications? If so please do supply the links I couldn't find to where these comparison are made. However faulty my reasoning the OT is about a questionable site and specific Dell monitors. Do you have something to add to what is essentially a dead topic as I have already made a purchase? Someone else who finds this thread may have use of some real information.
Dodgy appearances aside, it's not clear you'd get Dell's excellent warranty, which is easily worth the extra $30 this monitor costs direct during one of Dell's regular sales.
Does that mean if you buy from Dell for $399 you get a different warranty to the Harris Technology deal of $330?
