I've been going to restaurants and seeing the shopback sign saying 8 to 10% cash back. I've been using the app without problems but have just now seen in the app it's not an actual cash back unless you go again the next time within three months.
So that means you only get cash back if it's a restaurant you visit often. Yes that's OK for our local places but for places in the city or if we're just visiting another suburb you're unlikely to go back within the same time and to that same restaurant rather than a different one.
This feels a bit misleading. For example if I go to a franchise in one suburb and the same franchise in a different suburb it wouldn't count. If I visit a different suburb for a large shopping centre I'm likely to try different restaurants each time I go.
I'll need to be more careful next time but what are your thoughts?

The page also says there is a 1.5 percent service fee. i'm not sure if I have been charged that.
Yep very misleading.
