  • Can you get the apple trade in credit as well as the Vodafone plan credit if you sign up at the apple store?

    • +1

Yes you can, representative confirmed above.

Is there a time limit/ date ends on this deal? Pro max not available

    • Yeh keen to know this as well. For those of us who have been unavailable to reserve a pro max so far.

    • Do you know if the promax is unavailable both online and in-store?

  • Does this result in a credit enquiry? I am trying to reduce the amount on my file for home loan purposes.

    • Yes. Credit checks will be done

    • Yes

  • I have been on voda for last few years, apart from the occasional call drops, there's not much to complain really in terms of coverage. ( ai am in Sydney north shore btw). The best bit i like is the $5 a day international roaming. optus is the only other telco which offers this.

i am currently paying $50 a month on voda, so will end up paying 20$ more pm on the $69 plan, which is $480 more over 2 years- to get a $1000 discount on iphone.. so looks like there's some value in this deal. and the rest i can claim in salary sacrifice.

  • Hi there, stupid question, is this ONLY when you pre-order, for example, if I head to the Apple Store next Saturday and try to get $1000 off during the sign up, when its released, will this offer be expired? Additionally, looking to trade in an iPhone X for $170, can I transfer the data to the new phone prior to trade in? Thanks!

    • Would like to know this too, as I probably can’t make it to an Apple Store on either of the days you can currently reserve stock for.

    • +1

You can either a) backup to iCloud / computer first and trade the phone in in-store or b) pay the amount without trade-in first and transfer your data, then bring the old phone back into the store within 14 days of purchase and trade in then. Trade in amount will be credited back to your original payment method.

      • Thanks!

  • My wonderful friends can someone respond https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/14299709/redir

Also, can I take ref Vodafone offer and trade in my iPhone 14 Pro 512GB?

  • Is there any way to pay off the device in instalments or does it need to be paid upfront?

    • +1

If you take this deal with Voda, you can finance the cost of the phone remaining with Latitude Financing as long as you are already approved and come in with your latitude card and/or drivers license. Make sure you apply for the right card if you do apply for latitude by checking the Apple website.

      • Beauty, cheers!

  • Anyone know what the termination fees would be if cancelling the plan early if reception isn’t great in your area?

    • 1000/24 with however many months remaining to be paid of that 24, plus then 50% of monthly contract fees for remaining months. Although someone did mention above that Vodafone told them this plan was eligible for their 30 day network guarantee if you want to get out. I didn’t think they were meant to be but who knows. Not sure how it would all work with the phone then though after the $1000 discount you received.

      • The 30 day guarantee doesn’t apply at all with this plan, we are told to check the coverage map with new customers before proceeding to confirm coverage as you can’t cancel under the guarantee in this deal.

        • A person above said they have it both from live chat and in store that it does apply. I agree that I didn’t think it applies either on these. But no chance Vodafone would be able to hold someone to it if they have it in writing in the live chat. Ombudsman would definitely let them out.

          • +1

@dwhes: Ah, I see! I reckon just make sure you get this in writing if you were to make use of this deal then, so there isn’t any pushback from Vodafone.

  • When do you think this offer will end?

    • +3

This deal generally stays with us for quite a while post launch, a couple of months normally. Vodafone does sometimes change around the deal sometimes, but they do have the right to withdraw this deal at anytime. But I wouldn’t rush for the deal imo.

      • This is good to know as Pro Max stock levels appear to be an issue outside of Australia too. I hope once the phone is released we can still utilise the offer.

      • Hey rep, do I need to specifically use the Vodafone plan in the new iPhone?

Or can I give the sim to someone else, and keep the phone?

        TIA

        • The phone itself is unlocked, so you can use any SIM in it

I took this deal last year and I’m still on the Vodafone plan. Can I do this again this year? Am I eligible for the $75 plan?

    • You will be eligible for the $75 plan, but you will need to pay the termination fees on your existing contract. Which if you got it this time last year will be (69/2 + 1000/24) * 12 = $914

      • Which would then mean a saving of only $86 across the year. Hardly worth it.

      • Yeah, also if I’m not doing this deal again this year, I’ll be able to switch to a prepaid plan in 12 months time. Which will be a lot cheaper than $75 a month. So no not really worth it, unless I don’t have to terminate my current plan to sign up for this. Probably not possible but I guess I’ll ask Apple staff just in case.

  • Is this plan for a single device only or can the data be shared between devices?

  • Can I make the reservation in my name on behalf of an existing Vodafone customer then they complete the contract on the day?

    • If you are trying to get the new user $69pm plan for someone who is an existing Voda customer, then I doubt that will work. The reservation is just a reservation. It will have no bearing on the eligibility of the person signing the contract. Most likely they will have to sign up to the $75pm existing user plan.

      • No, just making a reservation For someone who’d be too lazy to do themselves.

  • The reservation link says: “Reservations can't be made right now.”

If I head to Apple store today, is possible to get the deal in Store? or this deal will expire tomorrow as it says “pre-order deal”?

  • Yeah I got confused by this too as it says pre-order

Sent the wife in and Apple said starts tomorrow. But tomorrow is release date so how tf is it preorder?

Thought you can just book today and pickup later

    • Yeah its confusing. It will probably still be available for "non-preorder" - you can't even really preorder at all, so the wording makes no sense. The best you can do is reserve stock: https://reserve-prime.apple.com/AU/en_AU/reserve/A/availabil…

      • This link says “Reservations can't be made right now.” so….
if we head to Apple store tomorrow, what will happen?

        • At past releases you will line up and the Apple staff will make you a reservation for a device and an available time slot. Could be same day if they have availability in your model. You come back at your reserved time and get your phone and sign up your plan. But I doubt you’ll get to just walk in. You’ll almost certainly have to wait at minimum a few hours for your slot. Very likely you will have to come back another day.

  • Can you also trade in your phone as well?

    • Yes. Confirmed with the rep today when I picked up my new phone. You can bring in your old iPhone any time in the following 14 days to trade it in.

  • What does new customer mean? They said a customer never been with Vodafone before..?

    • Means someone who is currently on another carrier

  • I wanted to sign up for this offer, the only thing that prevented me, that it doesn’t include 300 minutes to Zone 2 as Sim only plans does.

  • silly question but 150GB is per month or for the life of the plan? The website is silent on this aspect.

    • +1

      It's 150gb per month

  • Title should probably be changed because this can be used for any iPhone as per the Voda T&C's?

  • I’m already with Vodafone, is there any minimum port out time to be considered a new customer for the $69 plan?

    • FYI for anyone following, the system wouldn’t let them port me back in until the port out fee / last bill was paid.

  • EDIT: Dupe
