Looks like Big W has significantly dropped the prices on the Apple Watch SE 2022 to $319.Been looking to buy one of these so the timing is perfect.THe other stores havent price matched yet so can get it cheaper at Officeworks.I got Jbhifi to price match it as stock was low at Big W near me.
Correct me if i'm wrong. The SE 2022 44mm was $529 on release. The SE 2023 44mm is $449.

iPhone 15, watch series 9, Ultra 2 and SE 2023 announced yesterday. You can pre-order the SE for pickup on 22/9.
They just changed the pricing on the SE as far as I can tell, it's the same watch. Apple haven't put anything on their webpage about a new version (even though it says to order now for 22/9) and wikipedia doesn't list a new device.
@Wally: As I said, it says "order now" but it's not a new device. https://www.apple.com/au/watch/compare/ - there lists the Ultra 2 and Watch 9 as new, not the SE.
Specs and hardware hasn't changed for the SE either from what it was yesterday. All you can get is new bands.

Activity tracking, high and low heart rate notifications, Fall Detection, Emergency SOS, Crash Detection.

Watched full apple event, no new SE was announced.
They only made mention of the SE2 which is already in the lineup.

No, Apple Watch only works with iPhone.
One of the reasons Apple Watch works so seamlessly with iPhone is because Apple controls both ends.
The moment a third party is involved they will want to customise things and branching off from it's original design, that's when things get messy and broke.

Yea I have similar thoughts - I really want the ecg function, so I guess it's series 7 for me.
I have the SE because I'm not that interested in the ECG, or the pointlessness of the always-on display, for an extra $200 or so dollars.

I just dont see the point of buying an SE when it still doesn’t have ECG, a feature the main line has had since series 4, like just buy a used older gen apple watch with ECG rather than one of these bargain bin SE models.

It's not a new version… just a re-release with different bands. The ones that are re-released are this exact version (SE Model).

Office works refused to price match it only because the mnk03zp-k item number was not listed on the Big W website, despite every other detail being identical; picture, name, description.

These "smart" watches you need fast charging, but Apple Watches only has that since 7 and ultra.
