Is Missing B28 (700MHz) a Deal-Breaker?

Unsure of the impact in 2023 and beyond.

4G LTE band 28 (LTE-FDD?

(I was viewing a phone on eBay and the only spec difference appears to be B28a.
The catch is it's incorrectly listed as Global A2221 model, but actually A2111 USA+ without Band 28.

Telstra, Optus, Vodafone all use 700MHz (B28) these days in Australia.

    Not worth it - dealbreaker.

Even more of a dealbreaker with 3G network shutdowns pending.
No 700MHz would likely mean no voice service in many areas.

      Not found on Vodafone site.

Pls post reliable info shows that VF AU uses B28.

  • Really depends on how you use it. Band 28 is 700mhz as stated, whereas band 3 (which is what I mostly get) is 1700mhz. Generally speaking, the lower the mhz of the waveform the longer it travels, but the less data it can carry. So if you're very close to a tower, it's not going to matter as you'll get band3, or even band7 (2600mhz)

But away from the city, or in areas with lots of buildings that block signals, it becomes more important.

    • Really takes the mobile out of 'mobile phone'

  • Your device may have all the frequency for Vodafone network. Besides the link above, Kogan Mobile also says the same
