Air Purifier Filter Cost!

  If cost is the sole object, buy a $10-20 square HEPA filter off Ali and strap it to the front of a fan. Then you are not locked into rummaging around for the perfect sized filter replacement.

  I'd ignore the idea of carbon filters, which IMO do nothing as the amount of carbon in just about any of them is pathetic.

  These IKEA ones seem pretty good for $49, they use EPA12 filters which are only $6 to replace.

  I've been looking at getting this other Kmart air purifier where the whole filter set costs only $29.

  Good size and CADR (323m³/h), comparable price/performance with Xiaomi air purifiers but with cheaper filter and more readily available from shops. The downside will be who knows how long Kmart will stock the filters?

  Would love to hear feedback from others who have this model.

  Well, if it's good, just go out and buy ten replacement filters and you're set for many years.

  (Laughable carbon content on them though- you can see right through the carbon layer in the photos. But IMO you don't buy these for the supposed carbon content.)
