  • Struggle is real, on the day when iphone 15 is being released

    • +7

I’d go for a second hand 14 if I were in the market for a new phone. Plenty of people upgrading and selling at a good price if that’s what you are after :)

      • +3

Secondhand market is a minefield of scams ads.. gotta be careful

      • +4

But then you have to deal with FB Marketplace (time wasters, morons who think their phone still commands good money, and shitty battery life), and sometimes paying a small premium is good to avoid that.

  • Great day to buy an iphone 14 😂

    • Hence the sales!

  • +3

Hard to imagine people dropping $2219 to buy now rather than wait.

    • Was the pricing for 15 released already?

      • Tomorrow i guess

      • Just referencing the price in the title as being a lot of money to spend when pricing for the 15 is out tomorrow.

      • Now it has

        • Yeah pricing is ridiculous as usual. 1850aud for 15pro 128gb, and 2050aud for 256gb.

Missus will be waiting till next year for price drop as this year's iteration doesn't seem that bad.

          • @ilikeblue: Price drop isn't going to happen. New tech is always expensive, and with our depreciating AUD, we might even see steeper price hikes. :(

    price beat in OW?

    • Probably. Imagine OW would want to get rid of these too.

      • +1

Some resellers do not take stocks for online orders. My last iphone order from JB was fulfilled by Apple.

        • That’s interesting. OW does have physical stock tho, as seen by the amount of clearance deals that have been posted here.

          • @Alley Cat: the high margin will not make them losing money :)

            • @bond008: iPhones don't have high margins for retailers, because they pretty much have to agree to whatever terms Apple sets. What would they do otherwise, not sell iPhones?

Best I can do is tree fiddy and a McDonalds nugget box.

  • I think the determining factor is how much will it be cheaper that will get you to buy the 14 over 15

    Or a new Samsung S23 for $339.10 https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/798495

    • That's with a trade-in?

      • yeap. trade in that fruit phone :D

    • +3

I am an android and mainly Samsung user, placed an order with them on the 7th of Sep, delivery date showing 13th and dispatch on the 8th of Sep. Phone is nowhere near being delivered.
Contacted customer service via chat who advised that cant give me tracking and dont know when order will be delivered.

The worst possible customer service team and worst experience to be honest.

I would avoid ordering from their online promotions, looks like they cant keep up with the demand and orders are delayed significantly.

      • Agreed, I'm waiting for my repaired s21ultral back to me, when I was told my phone has been sent on 1/9.

  • Did anyone get a screenshot of the iphone 14 256GB for $1269? The page is now 404. I’d like it to claim price protection via my credit card.

    • Looks like it’s gone now.

    • what credit card has this feature?

      • 28 Degrees / Latitude. Not available for new customers.

        • I closed that down unfortunately, wonder if they will give me the price protection back if I reapply?

          • @Aerith-Waifu: Did you close the credit card or close the price protection feature?

      • For tight arses only !

  • +3

Did anyone know the iPhone 15 is being released soon? Because if you didn’t, I would just like to let you know considering this is an iPhone 14 post and it’s common practice to let everyone know there is a better model coming. No need to thank me though, you’re welcome.

    Hold almost there

Cheers OP, price matched at OW, $1595, iPhone 14 PM 256gb, claim TRS later this month!!

Anyone have experience of claiming TRS, does the device have to remain sealed to claim?

    • +1

Naoice. Haven’t TRS’ed for years, I only needed to show the goods and receipt, very notional. (You are allowed to open the box and check the device is actually working before leaving the country!)

    • +1

it doesn’t have to be sealed

    • Seems the good way to buy iPhones, paid $250 less than equivalent iP15+ 256gb with same processor, pro motion, steel etc.

    • Mother-in-law recently went oversea from Brisbane airport, pretty smooth claim.

No need to be sealed as mentioned by others, it also depends on the TRS office sometimes it is easier and quicker to prefill the TRS app and bring that with you. There is a queue for app user only and normally no wait over there in Brisbane airport.

  • Thanks for the replies, wife will be chuffed to play with shiny shiny…

  • +1

thanks OP, got price matched@OWS, 1329 for 14 plus 256G.

  • Link doesn't work on the pro max

    • Thanks, updated.

  • What is everyones thoughts on an Iphone 14 Pro Max vs an iPhone 15 Plus for someone who doesn't care about camera quality? They're a similar price at the moment.

    • +4

I'd go with the 14 Pro Max over the 15 Plus
