I preordered the physical PC game and also the Xbox premium edition upgrade from Harvey Norman. I was of the impression that the key in the physical box was going to be a Microsoft key (and then the Xbox upgrade would still work) but it is actually for Steam. I haven't activated anything yet but I now have an opened PC edition with an unused Steam code and a still sealed Xbox premium upgrade.
Should I:
- Try and sell the Steam key, and buy on Xbox Gamepass instead - assuming I can then use the upgrade
- Activate the Steam copy and try and sell the unopened premium upgrade - forgoing any of the upgrade loot/goodies
They are tough things to sell because buyers are predictably and rightfully weird about buying game keys that could easily be activated already. At least the premium upgrade is still plastic wrapped and sealed.
Any other ideas? Or at least best way to sell?
What do the codes physically look like?
Presuming they're printed on paper, it's best to post it as a letter with tracking. Better yet if the paper is still sealed with no evident tampering. Best if it has a scratchy-like coating over the code itself.
IIRC, there's no way to separate the DLC from the Xbox Series X itself. I'd use the Xbox DLC as it has zero value as it can't be activated on another console.
