Just got an email from Optus. Current Optus 5G plan increasing by $9 in October (over 12.86%). Besides moving elsewhere, any suggestions to avoid the increase ? Would AFCA help, or Complaining to Optus do anything?

For some reason I am still paying $65 for the most basic telstra post-paid plan. Any recommendations for easy switching? Can only use telstra network where I live.
Was thinking of woolworths mobile but I think it only uses part of the telstra network?
CheersBoost
To clarify, Boost is on the full retail Telstra network so your service is unchanged. Do you actually need that many GB/month?
At the moment the 365GB/YEAR $320 plan seems good, equivalent to 30GB for $27 per month.
AFCA? What are you going to say in your complaint? "They are trying to make a profit off of me!"?
If a private company decides to raise their prices, you have the choice to eat it, or you have the choice to move.
"Vote with your feet". I got the same email and churned to Boost ($230 yearly prepaid). Simples.
are you locked in to your contract?
Nope. Not in a locked contract
So move elsewhere cheaper? Lol trying to complain to AFCA.
I do Telstra prepaid 2 X $160 a year.
HVN stock has surged since we voted him down
here is why!How much data do you use a month? Most likely gonna be a cheaper deal with a MVNO such as Boost.
Optus is a scam and you should change no matter what plan you are on
AFCA won't help you, Optus and any other telco are allowed to increase prices, and prices move up and down all the time.
If you don't like it, best to search for a better value option that works for you :)
You could review if you need as much data as provided now and whether you really need 5G, there are definitely cheaper options with the MNVO's, just some ideas.
