Hi All,
I thought I'd put out there my situation with a new phone and get people's thoughts on what I should do.
While on a trip to Dubai recently I won a Huawei P60 Pro. Upon returning to Australia and turning it on I have found the photo processing part of the phone seems to have a defect. When taking a picture everything is find but upon viewing it in the gallery the photos look like a neon mess of colour and you cant make anything out. It seems like a processing issue with the camera software maybe as it happens across all lenses.
Normally I'd look to send it to a service center but as Huawei Australia doesn't sell this phone they said they don't have the ability to look at it/fix it when I contacted them through the chat.
The only other option I can think of is to send it back to Huawei UAE and hope they can repair and then resend it internationally if they accept my return. Another issue is because I won the phone I don't have a receipt or anything either for purchase.
Would you guys think it's worth it to try send it back to the UAE or is it a bit of a lost cause? I currently use another phone daily so I would likely only look to sell this phone anyway so if it's a dud I guess I'm not out of pocket anything at the end of the day!
EDIT#1: Had an interesting convo with the UAE online chat. They said put it in a box and send it if the courier will accept it (?). Then they will contact me to talk about what the issue is. I asked if I needed to add anything and they jsut said put it in the box and they will use the info on the box to contact me. It all seemed very unsure. Maybe spending money to courier it will be the risk if I never hear from them again and just hope they pull through…
There's a 0% chance Huawei UAE's service center will happily service your phone and send it back to you in Australia.
But you should be asking them, not us.
