Warranty

1 Year"

Says 5 year warranty twice, and 1 year warranty once. Probably 1 year vendor warranty through MyMemory and 5 year manufacturer warranty through Kingston.

Seems a bit slow with the read/write speed but ok for e.g. mp3s for your car audio system.

    Free postage- how so?

    • Free to the UK and maybe other EU destinations, usually about 2 quid to send stuff to .au

      Here's a 5% off coupon to help offset the shipping by a whopping 70p - VE5AW12

Shipped price with coupon is £15.22, so around $23.30AUD.

      • Post updated as described.

    • My apology, I hadn't clicked through to the final screen to see the postage cost updated.

  • Agree with other commenter - this doesn't include free shipping. Once you go through the cart and enter Australian address it adds shipping charge.

  • I wonder whether speed matters to me with a 32GB flash drive. The most data intensive thing I can imagine doing with one is … hmmm … say a 20GB transfer of movies from SSD on laptop to flash drive. And that would be once in a blue moon. Usual transfer much, much smaller. How much difference between world's fastest and this on that task? 2 minutes? 5 minutes? I can live with it.

  • Alternatively, get the Verbatim 32GB for $15 from Flingshot plus delivery, maybe - free shipping code "Kindle" might even still work, give "cheap8gb" a go as well.

    • Are you trying to test my connviction, re speed by directing me to the world's slowest 32GB flash drive, foobar?

Awful lot of mucking around, given that the regular price of 32gb flash drives locally is already hovering around (or just over) the $20 mark.

  • You can't compare the SE9 with any generic el cheapo, plastic stick. This is really good, much better than Kingston's own plastic DT109. The Amazon reviews were mixed, suggesting issues like tight fit in USB ports. I've had no such issue with my various Macs, Dell monitor and Samsung Smart TV.

For my personal use however, I chose the LaCie CooKey as I put it on my keychain. While the SE9 is sturdy and smaller, I don't want the hassle of digging out fluff from the connector.

In any case, much better than the various plastic SanDisk I've had over the years - if you wanted to include it with a bunch of keys in your pocket.

  • Do these have no cover or cap? I know a lot of people don't like caps on flash drives cos they lose them. I do like caps- I don't lose them.

  • Is there an 8 or 16 version. I don't need 32 gigs for anything…

    Looks like there is!: http://www.mymemory.co.uk/USB-Flash-Drives/Kingston/Kingston…
