1 Month Free Trial of Paramount Plus (Normally 7 Days) Payment Information Required @ Paramount Plus

1920
GOLD

It's been so long to find a freebie code for Paramount Plus. I finally found one.

Expiration of the code it's unknown.

Use the code GOLD at the final stage of the sign up.

It will need your payment details so make sure to cancel immediately after signing up to avoid paying the fees, and you still keep your free month. (Maybe, you need to wait 7 days and then cancel. People tried to cancel immediately and looks like they have given only 7 days free trial.)

It's for new subscribers only.
So if you have already had a trial here, simply use another email. You can still use the same Card as previously, you just need a new email sign up.

    Cheers OP

  • +1

    Oh yay thanks!

  • -3

    This is the way.

  • +4

I just signed up using the code and then cancelled the sub but now it says: "Your subscription has been canceled and your payment method will no longer be charged. You will not be able to access Paramount+ content after your billing cycle ends on 11/09/23" i.e. it says that access will stop after the 7 days despite also listing:
Plan: Paramount+ Monthly, Price: $9.99 AUD/month, Discount: 100% off for 1 Month - under the Subscription section.

Hopefully it will stay active for the month and not stop after 7 days.

    • +1

I think you need to cancel membership after 11 Sep. I'm unsure tho. If someone knows how it works please let us know I have same question.

      • +1

Yeah that's what I'm thinking - I've resumed the subscription and it says next billing date is 11/09/23 - I wonder if there will be any charge on that day?

    • +7

Charges will apply if you do not cancel before 11/09/2023 except if you have a Promo that covers the entire cost of a subscription, then you must cancel before the expiration of that Promo to avoid charges.

From the second page during signup

  • +1

looks like you will receive only 7 days free if you cancel immediately? Just signed up and next bill date is 11 of September.

    • +1

Hmmm, interesting. Thanks for the feedback. I haven't claimed mine yet. I found the code and saw that it gives you the free month. They must have changed something. We used to be able to cancel immediately and keep the month.

  • Also, the code only works on the 1 month sign up but not on the annual plan….weird tho.

    • +1

Probably use monthly plan for a month free and change or cancel as whatever u want

      • +1

yeah unfortunately will have to create a 2nd account now. Signed up for monthly plan = 7 days + 1 month off, then immediately switched to annual plan. The 1 month off (100%) promo got wiped off. Couldn't see an option to downgrade back to monthly plan but tried cancelling it and it says cancellation effective 04/09 lol.

Their mechanics are kinda weird but anyways, will do another one.

    What to watch ?

    • -1

Star Trek Picard is pretty good if you're a sci-fi fan.

      • +3

        No it's not… and that's on amazon.

        • +5

As a longtime TNG fan I quite enjoyed Picard. I liked that the old TNG crew got together and had a fun time. Everyone has their personal preferences. It's on Paramount+ too, including the entire 7 seasons of TNG.

          • +2

@Meeb: I stopped watching halfway through the first season. I found it a bit bland. Started watching again… almost finished the first season, and I have to say, it gets much better.

            • @BadGiraffe: Thanks maybe I'll need to keep watching… so slow though.

              • @wisc: It is. And some of the sub plots are confusing. But it's more Treky than Discovery, so there's that.

      • -1

New Trek is cancer. I don’t recommend it for OG fans.

        • +4

Strange New Worlds and Lower Decks are both great.

Paramount Plus is the only place to watch Strange New Worlds, and the only reason I'm considering another month of Paramount Plus.

        • +2

Whereas I do, being such a fan. I’d take much of the new stuff over the Berman era.

At the least, I’d encourage people to find out for themselves if they enjoy it.

    • +3

Was thinking about the same. Just finished Stan 1 month free, poor content and quality. I think Paramount is not far behind.

      • +5

There mightn't be content to your taste on Stan, doesn't mean it's poor!

        • +1

Stan has a few good shows.

I'd rate Netflix, Prime and Disney+ above it though.

    • +3

Special Ops: Lioness. It's good just finished watching the last episode on the high seas.

    • +2

Bunch of Star Trek stuff including Strange New Worlds and Lower Decks. Also Top Gun: Maverick and a bunch of Christopher Nolan movies.

  • +2

Anyone who uses trials and throwaway emails, keep your eye out for 'no fee' single use visa/mc promotions.

The card will clear with 1c left on it, then fail the renewal. :)

    • +3

$1 at least. That's why they charged me now

    • +3

      Or Revolut disposable card.

      • Is Revolut disposable accepted? I found in many occasions it is not accepted for subscription type of transaction.

        • +1

          Worked for me.

    • Can we not use disposable cards from wise? Also can you link to a previous post

      • +1

I tried a Wise disposable, no good.

  • +5

Move to plex or stremio+real debrid guys and watch anything you want for a fraction of the cost. The number of different streaming services and the hoops to jump through is just ridiculous

    • I haven't looked extensively, but is there a way to get stremio on devices other than PC?

Like a smart TV, or rpi or something similar? Is swap over in a heart best if I could get it on all my devices easily

      • +2

Yep. My friend uses stremio on his lgtv, firestick and Android. I use plex and it's pretty much supported on all clients even ps5 and xbox

        • Bloody beautiful. Looks like I'll be mucking around tonight on my Hisense and more to get this going

          Cheers

          • @LaTerrible: If your Hisense runs Android then it's possible, otherwise you will need to buy an Android HDMI device to install the app on.

      • +1

If you can get Kodi on the device I use Kodi + Fen + Real-Debrid

    • +1

Have you tried jellyfin by chance? I'm looking for real life feedback on it as I currently use Emby (personal preference over Plex).

      • Haven't tried jellyfin yet sorry. Don't have any complaints with plex so haven't thought about moving.

        • Do you pay for Plex or just the free version? I think the advantage of jellyfin is that hardware transcoding is free out-of-the-box but on Plex you have to pay for the Plex Pass for that (and on Emby you it's also paid via Emby Premiere).

          • +4

@Meeb: I pay for plex pass via Turkey. It costs around $8-10 annually or something I don't remember exactly. I don't mind paying $10 annually for the features it gives. I also pay around $10 monthly for a service which provides the content for me so that I don't have to spend that time and effort. Just open plex and start watching whatever I want.

My favourite part about plex is plex meta manager. It helps me keep a Netflix like setup on my home sceeen with trending and popular shows etc. Not sure if jellyfin has something similar

            • +3

@kazer: Ah okay, nice one - that's pretty cheap via Turkey!

From the looks of it jellyfin is a bit more basic in terms of UI (Live demo: https://demo.jellyfin.org/stable/web/index.html - login is "demo" and no password) so if those Netflix-like features are your thing then jellyfin is probably not for you.

              • +2

@Meeb: yea fair enough. thanks for sharing the demo. i think plex is what suits me best. This is what my homescreen looks like. And plex meta manager helps me to maintain collections like these so that I can find new content to watch. It also creates overlays like these which tells me the video quality and the streaming service without going into each title.

    • +3

Noob question - When we talk about plex and stremio, are we effectively talking about piracy?

      • Of course not

      • +4

        Yes.

If you want to support the writers/actors/creators of these films/shows, streaming is a better option.

It's annoying and silly, but to just sign up a different streaming service each month to get all the content isn't super hard.

Around $150 a year to watch everything. That's more than pirating, but, It's also less than half a trolley at Woolworths these days, or 3 video games.

    • +1

Plex is struggling to handle 4k .mkv files sometimes. Very frustrating. Looking for alternatives currently

      • What CPU are you running? QuickSync on Intel CPUs works a treat.

    • Which real debrid and how do you get the links?
I’ve tried with rpnet+jdownloader2 years ago via w4rez-bb.
Please help … is it any good in 2023?

      • you should be able to find a guide if you google. if not, dm me and i can send you a guide i found online

    • +1

Thanks for the reminder. I vaguely looked into Stremio and Real Debrid sometime last year but then quickly forgot about it.

I'm now set up and streaming. And this is after rebuilding an Unraid server to host Plex and *arr apps. I think it's suddenly obsolete.

    • Uncle Torrence never stopped helping me get stuff. Still works.

  • Legend

    Been keen to rewatch Deadwood

  • It might be 7 days plus 30 days free. See sign up page and confirmation email.

    • So you signed up for the free 7 day trial then applied code?

How do we get the 7 days + 1 month free?

      • +1

I applied the code during initial sign up.

      • +1

this might help you, i signed up today and queried with their support .. the reply was :
"Your free trial will end on September 13. Once it ends, our billing system would normally charge the first month's payment. However, since the coupon you applied was successful, your free month will start as soon as the free trial is over. "
        So, 7days + 1 month

  • Is this code for AUS only?

    • What Country it's your Paramount Plus? If it's US there are quite few available.

      • Oh i'm Aussie, was just wondering if I could share this with some international friends.

  • +2

“ This promotion is valid for 1 month from 11 Sep 2023.”

You definitely cancel it after 11/9

    • so you're ignoring page 2?

  • +3

Paramount suffered a data breach and I've still not received any kind of update letting me know if my data was breached.

Their customer service is hopeless as well, I had a typo in my email last time and they told me they couldn't update my email and I had to cancel/resub to fix it.

    • +1

      AGREE!!

    • Yep archaic and unhelpful customer service, had almost the same issue.

  • +1

    Thanks OP

  • -1

IMO Paramount is not worth it better use other streaming services.

  • Weird. I used the code to sign up. It says 100% discount for one month. But the next billing date is a week later.

    • i saw same thing, signed up today .. this reply from their support might help you too :
"Your free trial will end on September 13. Once it ends, our billing system would normally charge the first month's payment. However, since the coupon you applied was successful, your free month will start as soon as the free trial is over. "

  • Handy reminder for those that got the cheap annual pass last year. Expires in nov so made sure it was cancelled and not to charge then.

I probably got the values worth out of it , the movie range isn't too bad.

  • splendid OP

  • Cheers OP

  • I tried adding a fullstop to my gmail and it doesn't work, seems like that are onto this method.

  • +1

Mostly old movies. Get it on youtubi for free.

  • Thanks OP - signed up just now. I confirmed with their support team :
"Your free trial will end on September 13. Once it ends, our billing system would normally charge the first month's payment. However, since the coupon you applied was successful, your free month will start as soon as the free trial is over. "
So ~5wks free which is sweet.

    • HOW DID YOU GET IT TO WORK?

        1. Make a new account (with an email that you haven't used before)
        2. Click on Go to monthly 7 days trial
        3. Enter your details
        4. Apply Promo code GOLD
      • Didn't do anything different from the basics really. Just signed up totally as Scrooge had described in above comment. The month free seems to just be added to the end of the free week automatically, or at least was for me

  • THIS OFFERED A 7 DAY TRIAL NOT A MONTH

  • I think the code is for 1 month free AFTER the 7 day trials finished. I guess we do not to cancel it BEFORE the 7 days trial finished. Thus when the 1 month plan kicks in, it will give you 100% discount.

  • +1

yeah this code didn't work for me. 7 days only

  • Yeh I took the suggestion here by someone to cancel right after signing up, and sure enough, my sub just ended after 7 days :(

    • Fking misleading ah? Why OP still keeps his smart suggestions up there?

  • I just had a look at the paramount site, and looks like the 30 day trial has ended. There is still a 7 day trial, but i think thats it.

    • So you didn't actually try and enter the code?

I signed up five minutes ago and it worked fine.

  • Just signed up
Says "100% discount for 1 Month"
Also says "Next Billing Date 30/09/23" which is 7 days
Also said will not be charged if cancelled before 30/09/23

    • Same, signed up today:

Says "100% discount for 1 Month"
Also says "Next Billing Date 01/10/23" which is 7 days
But can't see your "Also said will not be charged if cancelled before …"

Could you update us on 30th as to whether you're charged please?

  • Expired - the promotional code is not valid
