Help me with SSD?

Hi, was thinking about upgrading my laptop to SSD and my mate's interested in this too. What we have is the Dell XPS 15 (L502x - Sandy Bridge version) and the latest Dell Vostro 3560 (Ivy Bridge one). A lot of SSD sales is up on Ozbargain but we want to make sure which is the right SSD. Also, we want to know whether it's possible to replace the SSD with the optical drives using a 'caddy' ? Cheers

Choosing SSD is just like choosing HDD, only difference that SSD is more expensive. Any SSD will suit to contemporary laptop.
If you can find expansion port caddy for your laptop it would be very easy to replace DVD with HDD or SSD. Almost all laptop's DVDs this days have SATA interface - no problems in replacing it with HDD.

I would not recommend to have OCZ SSD - too many complains on them. I had to replace 3 OCZ SSD's in 2 years. Every time it had more and more "improved fail-safe controller" that should last forever, but in few months I was bringing it back. Current OCZ SSD works for almost a year but I cannot rely on it. Intel's SSD was working all this time without a single problem.

Good SSDs is still TOO expensive for mass market.
Cheap SSDs are real crap, would not recommend anybody to use it regardless name of manufacturer.
