For those in the Imou/Dahua ecosystem or just starting out are these pretty good pan/tilt WiFi IP cameras. In the listing you can get either the 2MP 1080p camera or the 4MP 2K camera if you want more detail. Unfortunately only a US/EU plug is available and it uses microUSB, however any old USB phone charger would suffice.

Both cameras have 355° pan, 90° tilt, IR LEDs and full colour night vision, motion sensor with person detection up to 10m with auto tracking, mic & speaker for two-audio, abnormal sound alarm notifications and WiFi connectivity.

For recording the camera has a microSD slot, RTSP/ONVIF/NVR support including Imou/Dahua/Blue Iris, Imou Cloud and playback through the Imou app.

  • We have these and run fine. I run them through Shinobi and block their access to the internet.

    • Can you run Shinobi on windows 10 as hyper V?

      • No idea. I just run Shinobi on Ubuntu.

  • Nice price, wondering if i buy a few of these what's the best way to use them to monitor my house when I'm at work / holidays. Need a solution where I can use an Android app to view a multi-camera feed..

    • +1

There’s Imou app if you’re happy to use default app and not need to do much of any thing and has ability to view multi feed. I still have 4 imous monitoring some harder to access blind spots as part of my Frankensteined security setup.

You can get them to record to sd or pay for the upgraded cloud sub which also is supposed to have more intelligent alerts

      • Thank you, seems like a good cheaper alternative to say something like a Tapo C210 setup.

        • +1

At rrp maybe but sometimes c210 goes on sale pretty cheap too. But if you’re looking to make a whole system Imou could be the go as they do a range of indoor and outdoor stuff and consistently cheap all year round as opposed to other platforms like eufy. I’m looking to get some imou cruiser se+ to supplement my setup now which is again now about half eufy (critical blind spots) and half Imou (non critical blind spots)

          • @Jimothy Wongingtons: Thank you, I'm in a rental too so hopefully can manage to get some outdoor cameras too that fits those purposes

          • @Jimothy Wongingtons: I've been watching the Imou Cruiser 2 that's currently going for US$57.70 if you get the 5MP version. Smaller than the SE+ and should have better footage.

            • @Clear: Oh damn I just order the 4mp Imou cruise se + for $100 from amazon delivery tmr. My elderly neighbour got broken into again last night , so thought I’d get another blind spot sorted asap sigh tough times with huge increase in crime …

              • +1

@Jimothy Wongingtons: Only an $11 price difference so it's worth it for the quicker shipping time and 1MP won't make a major difference.

  • Does anyone know what’s the difference between this and the Ranger 2C model?

    • From what I can see it seems this has better night vision. Otherwise pretty much identical.

      • Does the nightvision still have grainy images throughg a screened or glass window like the R2C?

        • The difference is that this does colour night vision. I don't have either but my Ranger 2 2MP and 4MP are perfectly fine through my windows.

Night time is a different story if there's no light outside. Since the IRs would reflect off the window I have them off. That's to be expected of course.

          • @Clear: Dang. Was hoping to find a moderately priced cam that had nightvision without the window IR problem.

            • +1

@Phlume: They're all pretty much going to have that problem pointing out the window. Since for night vision they rely on light.

  • Looks identical to the TP-link C210. Is the app and recording quality as good?

  • would these work with Hikvision NVR? my two internal cameras died so looking for replacement on the budget.

    • Wait for C210 to go on sale sub ~$45. They definitely work with NVRs using ONVIF protocols.

    • ONVIF so yes

  • i have one so kind of stuck with this brand as i want to see all cameras in one app instead using multiple apps

    • +1

Something like a Blue Iris setup would allow you to have multiple brands in the one app.
