Like most other Nintendo Switch owners, one of my Joy-Con’s stick is playing up with stick drift.
Does anyone have any recommendations for repairers (or a way of getting Nintendo themselves to do it?)

Contact Nintendo if your device was purchased locally for a free repair…

Even if out of Nintendo warranty, they should repair it for you for free, under Australian consumer law.
"As a result, users in Australia are entitled to free repairs should they prove that the Nintendo Switch was purchased in Australia, with a serial or production number. If so, that puts the Switch (and the Joy-Con drift issue) under Australian consumer law and the various protections that apply to customers."
It's not a given. I've been through this with Nintendo Australia in 2020 - they didn't just openly accept to do it as they said that apparently only the Switch itself comes with 2 years warranty and the Joycons, even if they came with the system, only have 1. They caved quickly after I reminded them of ACL though - unfortunately it meant that I lost my limited edition red Super Mario joycons as they didn't have stock to replace them and they also said they don't repair. They let me choose the colour of the replacements though.
EDIT - just saw the post below, seems like they now repair.

There are reports of users having bought their device in November 2018 and being able to get it repaired in 2022. So it seems Nintendo will fix your joycons even if they are out of warranty.
Send it into Nintendo.
I had one of mine go bad and JB wanted to charge me to fix it cos it was just past Nintendo's warranty period even though they acknowledged it was a manufacturer's defect.
I sent it in to Nintendo instead. They covered postage and fixed it for free since this is covered under Consumer Law.

wow… is this recently? and how bad was your drift? mine just slight / sometimes, but the lock mechanism isnt good anymore (the thing that lock joycon to the console, without press the black button i can slide it out)
This was about two years ago. It was my second pair of joycons and were just over a year old at the time. The joycons that came with my Switch around launch have never had drift.
At first it wasn't that bad, it would just occasionally happen, but it got worse very quickly. It got to the point that as soon as I pushed the stick in any direction then let go, it'd start drifting in that general direction as if the stick was being 10% of the way but with some wobble too.
With mine, the B button doesn’t press sometimes. I was considering sending it to Nintendo
If Nintendo doesn't play nice, it's relatively easy to swap out the joystick. Replacements are $5ish on ebay and aliexpress. I think there are some hall effect joysticks but they cost more.
I fixed my first joy-cons with drift, it was a quick easy fix. Nintendo will fix it for you free now, so let them do it for you.
Does anyone know how to get Microsoft to repair an XSX controller? I bought XSX 26 months ago from Target and the controller busted. Six months ago I went to the website to try and initiate a repair but always landed on a message saying computer says no. So I just bought another one, but they are like $90 I would like to get it repaired if I still can. The left bumper is sunken and the left stick drifts down.
do we need to pay the shipping from us to nintendo?
Nintendo pays for shipping.
Ok thanks. I just submitted mine and received a form on my email but it doesnt look like return label
Let me know if you figure out the free shipping.
@DustyAfternoon: hmm i think they changed the process and now we need to pay shippping to them.
doesnt say anything about post prepaid label etc
@DustyAfternoon: I don't know if they've changed it but from memory I got the Aus Post label afterr filling out the service/warranty form.
If you’re in Melbourne, you can drop them
Off at their Scoresby location.
We have Four Switches in our household. I've had 3 go through joycon drift now. I ordered 8 joysticks from aliexpress and have done them all myself, if you cant be bothered dealing with nintendo.
Ali link please? Not too expensive?

These are the ones i bought. I've replaced three, they are working flawlessly so far (ranging from 6 months to 18 months).
i bought the replacement ribbons on ebay for like $5-$10 and fixed the joycon drift with some home diy..
Is it still under warranty? If so, Nintendo will do it.
