  • Is it going to come shipped in a satchel and box damaged?

    • I've had orders come in various parcels from Amazon JP via AU.

Small item in a big box; big items shoved into a cardboard parcel, etc.

One positive is that they come super quick with Prime (Usually <1 week).

    • +1

Amazon Japan is amazing with making sure everything arrives undamaged. Something like this will typically come cling wrapped to a piece of cardboard that's then glued to the base of the shipping box.

Not the most environmentally friendly, but probably less wasteful than having a bunch returns and redeliveries due to shipping damage like with other Amazon stores.

      • Amazon Japan is amazing with making sure everything arrives undamaged.

Until it gets to AU, then it's delivered by Auspost and always 'Signatured Required', regardless of the orders and no option to leave in a safe place/mailbox.

        • ? Never had that issue.

          • @Odin: My items delivered by Aussie Post are generally good - they leave in a safe place.
Amazon drivers sometimes place it in right front of the flyscreen door (as opposed to placing it to the side and a bit back)

Wow great price! Great device too, once you rip out the vibration motor haha

    • +1

      But that's the best bit!

    • I did this too! Great stuff.

    OOS - damn

      • Damn, missed again :( Why do I have a day job?… Oh year, to afford this, haha.

    What is this thing?

    • +2

OPs description sums it up pretty well

      • -1

There's some assumed knowledge in that description that I am not privy to.

Does this connect to the app? Do you physically throw it?

        • Press the link then.

And that what Google is for instead of asking on OzBargain …

@kerfuffle: So many replies, none of them remotely answering my question.

Was just looking for a quick overview of what it does. I've since looked it up, your condescension was unnecessary.

            • @andresampras: Back in my day When I was in primary school, we had a class motto of "Ask 3 Before Me" where 'me' refers to the teacher.

It helped greatly then to seek out alternative ways to solve something whether from another peer or references from the textbook. These days everyone expects information to be handed to them and if they don't get it they blame the community.

Sometimes I like to know how things work, even things I don't need

Google should always be the first of the 'ask 3 before me' as long as it is a relevant topic/product, particularly for someone who likes to know general things.

@CodeXD: So your philosophy is - find out for yourself, never engage another human being unless necessary.

                Got it.

Just so much negativity here today, for a simple question. Could I have found out myself without asking? Sure. Out of very casual interest I posted a question here, thinking someone in the know might share some insight.

Instead, I'm surrounded by people on high horses throwing stones.

                Makes me sad.

I never said never, just to try to find something out for yourself first.

Not only is the answer you were seeking in the deal description, it is also in the 'go to deal' link.

That's precisely what I was trying to do. More than one way to skin a cat.

Honestly I'd rather I'd have received zero replies.

The bit I was missing was the app connection. WIthout that assumed knowledge, the descriptions here and on the listing are confusing (to me, anyway).

It plays Pokemon Go for you.

  • +1

Damn! I've been eyeing Pokemon GO Plus + for a week now and only just saw this deal :(

  • Argh, I lost one last week and just bought the $98 version with accessories yesterday. Good find op

  • +1

The reviews say the vibrating motor is very loud and cannot be disabled.

    • You need to open up the device if you want to disable the vibration

    • +3

This is true but a critical part of the device in my opinion. the different vibrations will alert you to certain things happening within the game. I keep it in my pocket most of the time. I also put my hand in my pocket to feel the vibration especially walking to work from the bus stop to give me an idea of whats happening. eg. How many items am i picking up from pokestop, how successful is it at catching pokemon and whether i would need to switch to manually throwing balls. Whether my bag is filled and i need to make room and so and and so on. if you keep in in the breast pocket of your jacket, the vibration isn't noticeable and can go about your day.

Looks like another shipment is due to arrive in November and December you can pre-order it from EB Games https://www.ebgames.com.au/product/electronics/293746-pokemo… and Amazon AU https://www.amazon.com.au/Nintendo-Pok%C3%A9mon-GO-Plus/dp/B…

I would think other retailers that sold out before like JB Hi-Fi and The Gamesmen and the official Nintendo AU store will have pre-ordering available soon.
