STENKOL Nimh AA/AAA Smart Battery Charger $10 + Delivery (+ $5 C&C/ $0 in-Store) @ IKEA

230

Copied from my last post

Probably the cheapest individual charging channel smart battery charger available from an Australian retailer.

For the ozbargain battery veterans -This is a smart battery charger with individual minus or zero delta voltage detection (-dV/dT or 0dV/dT), has individual battery charging, can charge 1-2 AA batteries in 3 hours and 3-4 AA batteries in 6 hours, does not overheat the batteries as it is not a fast charger, does not require external power adapter like other chargers, can be left plugged in a power outlet instead of fiddling with power cables when batteries need charging, Australian electrical certification, available from Australian retailer, only $10!!!

For the uninitiated- this a worthy battery charger for eneloops, ladda and other NiMH AA AAA rechargeable batteries, only $10.

With STENKOL battery charger you can always have fully-charged batteries close at hand.

Easy to use, just insert the batteries into the charger and connect it directly to a wall socket.

4 individual charging channels allow you to charge 1 or up to 4 batteries at a time.

Suitable both for AA and AAA rechargeable NiMH batteries.

Turns off automatically when the batteries are fully charged, defective or too hot.

Provided with indicator light – clearly shows the charging status.

Charger features
• Charge 1 to 4 pieces of HR6/AA and/or 1 to 4 pieces of HR03/AAA rechargeable batteries.
• 4 charging slots. Connected batteries are charged
individually.
• Charge is terminated by individual minus or zero delta voltage detection (-dV/dT or 0dV/dT).
• Safety by separate safety timer and temperature sensors.
• Non-rechargeable and damaged batteries detection.
• Charging status with 2 colour LED indicator for each slot.

    pretty cheap

    wonder if it contains GaN

    • +4

Why would it? It's just a basic low power AC/DC supply, no need to get fancy. No size/efficiency/heat constraints.

pretty sure he meant to say this as a joke, why so serious?

        • +6

If that's true, there's certain frequencies of farts that are funnier

Another option & an OzB favourite is the LiitoKala Lii-402 because it can charge bigger batteries like 18650.

Bugger, forgot that I had a LiitoKala charger and just purchased an IKEA STENKOL charger last week. $10 wasted.

I've personally been using the Nitecore D4 since 2016, and it's been great.

This is a great charger. It's also worth repeating that ikea ladda are basically rebranded enloops. There's little reason to buy the actual enloops anymore (except for how incredibly annoying ikea is to get around)

    • +2

Enough reports on this forum alone that suggest that they are not made identically.

  • +1

I assume this works with Eneloops?

this a worthy battery charger for eneloops, ladda and other NiMH AA AAA rechargeable batteries

  • The previous version of their charger was amazing, fast charging. This was very very slow in my experience. Eneloop pro stays the entire night to charge.

Maybe slow charging is good for batteries but sometimes need fast charging too lol

    • Solution: Buy more eneloops.

I have a few different chargers - ISDT N24, 6 x Nitecore D4, 1 x Lii-500 and about 8 Skentols. I do find that the Skentol's reject some of my Eneloops and older Ladda batteries. When the rejected batteries are swapped into the other chargers they charge to full capacity just fine. Just a heads up.

    • Thanks for your post I was wondering why some batteries weren’t charging in this charger

  • Does anyone know if there is any difference (other than capacity) between the LADDA 1900mah and 2450mah batteries?

    • +1

1900 has more charge cycles, 1000+ IIRC

      Whereas the 2450 has 500.

In some markets the 1900s are reportedly made in China but I wouldn't be able to confirm.

My recently purchased 2450 Laddas are made in Japan so likely rebranded Eneloops.

      • This is exactly what I was hoping to find out - the # of cycles is just like envelope vs ene pros.
Thanks for that, I'll have a think about which ones to get

  • For some reason my nitecore had trouble charging my AA/AAA so I bought one of these based on previous OZB posts - best 10 bucks in a while. Great unit for AA and AAA
