Crazy price for a Brushless Lawnmower, got an email earlier today saying the whole site has 40% off.

From their website:

    • What Amp capacity though

    • Also, 4AH Battery and Charger combo for $99

  • +10

    blower, mower, charger, 2x 5AH batteries $359.40 with code KATANA40 was $599

This is a much better deal than the mower alone

Anyone used this brand before? Warranty seems decent 5 years with reg. Can also add free gear depending on spend..https://www.katanapowertools.com.au/redemption

      • And it seems the redemption is applicable before the 40% discount, too. Also the redemption code works per transaction, so possible to redeem multiple items if each transaction reach a certain value.

Pity battery combos, especially the 3x4Ah one, are out of stock.

Anyone else stack multiple of these redemptions? It seemed to go through and it's in the order list. Wondering if it'll be honoured.

    • +1

It seems like it's just a sub-brand of kinchrome, for what that's worth.

  • Will Ozito/Einhell batteries fit?

    • +1

They do look very similar, almost like they use the same OEM?

    • Be very interested to know as I've already got some Oxito PXC, would be good if could chop and change

    • Very important question because of this brand goes tits up and you need a new battery you're done.

      • +2

i'm looking at an ozitos, b&d, rockwell and autobarn aldis battery right here on my desk and it looks sort of like B&D

its not oztios… this has 4 slots, ozitos has 5 and the polarity is the wrong way

it really really looks like B&D, the polarity looks the same

  • Wanted to find out what type of blade it has…Site has no specs, manual has no specs. God I hate Australian retailers. In no other country do retailers do this shit.

    • There's a manual on the site. Looks to be a single metal blade bolted in the centre.

      Is that any good?

      • Thanks but I checked that. Was trying to find out what material the deck and blade are.

  • +1

Looks like they belong to the Kincrome group.

  • +1

Look I’m all for electric. But all these different battery ecosystems are really putting me off from making the switch…

  • Is this brand in general better than Ozito?

  • +2

You know, I read that as "Katana Powered" at first. I had visions of tiny Samurai attacking the yard.

    Alas.

    • +2

They lost the chance to call it 'Kusanagi'.

      • +1

I see what you did there, pretty sharp one.

      • Maybe some canny weeb marketer will use that name one day in the future, hopefully for a brand whose imminent destiny is to be reincarnated as landfill.

  • Steel or plastic deck? Pricing aside, that's one of the main deal-breakers

    • +1

      Looks poly in the pictures.

Assuming the deal breaker is if it’s steel you pass because it rusts, is heavy, and has no benefit over PC?

      • +1

I've never trashed a steel deck mowing over something that turned into a projectile, I've done it with a PC deck though.

    ClickBait BS 101 right there

    • What makes it clickbait?

      • +1

its no battery or charger and so i guess this guy has his panties in a bunch because of that

  • +3

Just purchased the blower, mower combo. Wish us luck 🙏🏻
Have been looking at Ryobi for quite a while but hopefully it will serve us well.

    • +2

Thanks Guinea Pig. Please report on findings.

If they're true to their warranty, it's great bang for buck.

    • I bought the steel deck brushless ozito, it works great. I wish you luck

    • Has your order gone to delivery?

  • +1

36v is a bit low for a mower. You'll need to walk slower to mow stuff

  • +1

Tried many electric Mowers but for shear quality and warranty, and amount of equipment in their ecosystem nothing beat EGO. expensive yes worth every cent absolutely

    • +1

82V Victa was good too but discontinued.

  • I ended up getting the 58v Masport, I wanted the 60v but couldn't get close to rrp in WA, they are far from the most futuristic looking units but the solid catcher was a must for me.

  • +1

Just a few new ego products coming out soon, wet vac, auger, pressure washer, new inverter already have smaller one its awesome can run my tv for 6hrs on it off 5ah battery, and a damn electric mini bike lol.
