Sydney attractions pass.. iVenture card & any other?

Hi guys,

Heading to Sydney next week, and looking around for deals. Came across iventure card upon googling which includes heaps of attraction passes plus transport pass for $339 per adult, as per link below.

http://seesydneypass.iventurecard.com/sydney-tourism-package…

From what i can see that are included, I reckon it's pretty good bargain even though it sounds quite pricey. What you guys or sydney dwellers think? Should i go look elsewhere for better deals? Thanks!

  • I bought a one day pass a couple of years ago and went hell for leather. I did everything I wanted to do. I was travelling alone so did not have to compromise on length of time, rest breaks, etc. It was go go go.

  • Many of the venues are close to each other so not much value in the transport. Doubt if you could get to jenolan caves by public transport.
You can buy taronga zoo ticket with transport included on its own.
Which attractions do you want to get to?
Where are you staying and for how long?

    • Well, mainly in and around city e.g. aquarium, bridge climb, sydney tower, blue mountain,

I'm there for 6 days. I realized there might not be much point in getting transport included, but i check on cityrail website, the ticket already costing me $194 itself for "MyMulti 2" , and the iventure only has aditional 60+ including the same ticket…so isn't it straight forward discount already?

      • Are you staying in the city? How many travelling?

        • yea near central station, and got 3 of us..

    • We made use of the SeeSydney and SeeMelbourne iventurecards about 3 years ago. Both were amazing value!

Hit the aquarium, wildlife world and jet boats (pack extra dry clothes and shoes) in a day and you've already made your money's worth. After that everything is a bonus….

As far as the Jenolan caves go, You can catch a train from Central up to Katoomba where the tour bus will collect you. (you have to book in advance)

We only did the 3 day… wish we had time for the full 7… Go for it, you wont regret a cent.

    What about this option
http://www.sydneyaquarium.com.au/tickets/#combo-passes if you like looking at fish!

    • well, if i pick all 5 , i already would be paying $216 ..so isn't it much better just go with iventure card then where there are like 30+ location to go?

The bridge climb costs a fortune and isn't included in the iventure.

There a a lot of backpackers/hostels around central with discount tourist offers. If I go close I will try to pick up some info for you.

If you look at 131500.com you can calculate fares and travel times. I don't think you would get value from the mymulti2.

How many of the iventure places would you go to?

If you can borrow a child you can travel all day Sunday for $2.50 each.

    • top job mate! thanks! No child, all adults unfortunately..

yea, the climb gonna cost a hole in my wallet, but i guess i been wanting to try it for a long time..

Now you starting to confuse me….maybe i should even hire a car ? haha

You don't want to hire a car, parking is a nightmare.

Pick out what you want to do and work with that.

There is a free bus running in a loop central to circular quay, the 555. It goes past Chinatown, Queen Victoria Building. You can buy a discount 10 journey bus ticket and pay for 3 people on same trip with the same ticket.

    • guess you're right, city parking could be nightmare..

but i have to say i'm not a huge fan of public, it just confuses me at times XD but no choice this time.

But how do you use 1 ticket for all 3 people? Isn't it one pass per adult? or am i misread something?

      • If you buy a mybus 10 journey it is allowed to dip the same ticket once for each passanger travelling together. The 10 journey is much cheaper than 10xsingle tickets. No time limit.

City parking is difficult and expensive.

The. 555 bus is pretty easy to use once you get a map. It goes both directions.

Just got an email from Living social…not sure how many attractions you are looking to visit.

    http://www.livingsocial.com/cities/902/deals/456856-imax-mad…

Entry for One Child ($39) or One Adult ($55) to Three of Eight Exciting Sydney Attractions including IMAX, Madame Tussauds, WILD LIFE Sydney, Blue Fish Restaurant, Oz Jet and Many More with the iVenture Card.

3 months to redeem, and can be redeemed on separate occasions.

In addition to that, there's a mention that you can get one for free? Buy first, then share a special link. If three friends buy, yours is free! So if there's 4 of you, why not?

    • Good find!

    • good find…kinda confusing though..so we only allowed to go to 3 places with the voucher?

I don't know if you would be interested but I saw a day tour to the Blue Mountains wiht bushwalking and LUNCH for $70. It mentions "coolest backpacker adventure tour in Sydney" so if that is not your style give it a miss. It is a small group day tour.

    the website is www.happycoach.net.au

I had a look in a couple of the backpacker tour shops around central but they are trying to sell trips to Queensland, surf lessons, scub diving type things more so than Sydney attraction. I forgot to mention there is a "hop on hop off" open top double decker but that goes past Central. It goes to the "tourist places" close to the city centre, includes Bondi and although you could "do it much cheaper" using public transport to Bondi and the 555 free bus this is an easy option and you will not get lost!
