Isn't this current standard price for this kit?
Pretty much, it was $188 before prime via amazon germany, I think $189 before that via AU.
I bought some viper sticks, refuse to boot with anything above default 2133mhz which is shit when they 3600mhz
Which board & cpu configuration?
Possible reasons:
If you provide the RAM, motherboard and CPU details, some OZBers might be able to help you troubleshoot. For example, as much as I like Micron E die DDR4 RAM modules, some motherboards don't read the XMP of those modules properly at time. One board I have seems to get confused when I went from DDR4-3600 Hynix to Micron E die DDR4-3600. Micron E based DDR4-3600 has tighter timings and if the BIOS incorrectly set the voltage to 1.2V, those modules won't work properly.
first tried patriot memory from 2021 deal kept crashing pc, many errors memtestx86, even default settings, back to corsair no problems, couldn't manage return them so might try again

X570 AORUS PRO WIFI (rev. 1.0)
This is the sorta thing I was after when I replied, Amazon offered to return em when I messaged asking them last week but if I can get em working that's better.
I'll get the info when I'm home tonight
TLDR; Disable fastboot/enable memory training where possible.
Probably not on the QVL of the board you're using them on. I had an issue with some memory that seemingly went bad after a power outage. Thinking it was bad and ready to RMA turns out power outage set mainboard to defaults which in my case enabled fastboot and disables memory training (a not too well documented MSI thing apparently).
Disabled fastboot (2sec extra boot time) and machine is back to being solid as a rock.
I'll try that tonight, would be great to get it running. Rust hates playing with 16 gig of ram, the extra is awesome, u can open any program and it runs smooth
Rust? Dont punish yourself like that, get a cheap SSD dude. Lots of deals on here for that.
@BargainKen: The rust plays on a wd sn850, the ram just maxes out on it with disc open
Until recently I though 32GB sufficient. However, I tried compressing some large images as JpegXL (new format) and the programs I used would crash, presumably due to running out of memory (IrfanView and XnViewMP were using around 23 GB according to Task manager pre-crash).
How large are these images? If IrfanView and XnViewMP are processing multiple images in parallel, you could try reducing the number of jobs or threads used to keep it under your RAM limit if the images aren't crazy large.
