Saw a post about Lenovo M10 last night and checked the price for a comparable (or even better) tablet from Samsung IMO selling at $299. PB at Officeworks.
For restaurant owners: This is also a compatible device for Square POS KDS function.

They are quick aren’t they :p
Not a bad price, for not a bad tablet.
Last year, I had picked up of these via the Optus deal - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/696220
I mainly use Android with my Google Home set up, so I thought this Samsung Tablet A8 would be able to replace my iPad 5th Gen. This A8 has great speakers and a nice screen to watch movies/shows. However, I found my self gravitating towards the iPad for general reading the news/forums, and streaming videos because I feel the iPad is more responsive than the A8.
Considering I got my A8 through that Optus deal (linked above), it was quite a bargain and I don’t regret getting it as a back up tablet for the kids. However, knowing what I know now about the A8 vs my old iPad 5th Gen, if I already have a functioning iPad and did not immediately need a new tablet, I personally would not buy this A8 for anything more than $250. Instead, I would save it towards the next time I need to upgrade my iPad in the next few years when it stops getting iOS updates and apps stop getting updated etc,
Does your A8 have a bluish tint to the screen? One i got from the same deal has.
Rubbish screen, even the kids hate it lolNo, my A8 looks fine. In a pinch, had to use it to check some Google Sheets, and that white spreadsheet was definitely white.
If you have a blue tint, perhaps try using the colour calibrate app as mentioned here - https://www.reddit.com/r/GalaxyTab/comments/zhi9ps/a_remedy_…
Made no difference when I tried that app before, just like the person who replied on there.
Just seems to be the luck of the draw with it, seen few other comments on different places regarding the blueish screen tint.Might have another go and try few different apps.
Aside from having lower storage and being an extra $50, you're probably right about it being a better tablet than the Lenovo
This Samsung also has a much worser chipset.
12nm Unisoc T618 vs 6nm Snapdragon 680 on the Lenovo.
edit: Looking at a side by side comparison of the specs I can't actually find a single thing the Samsung does better.
The Wifi Lenovo has the MediaTek G80. The 4G LTE model has the SD 680.
Incorrect. Model ZAAM0081AU sold in Australia has the SD 680. This is the same model as the Bing Lee deal.

Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 680 Processor (2.40 GHz )
@HomeAlone: I see. That's great.
Really happy with my Lenovo. Performs great.
Less $50, more storage and near stock Android.
Samsung's UI is not for me.

And officeworks pricematch and beat so 269.80 and they honored it.
Sold mine, screen was fine but meh.
i think this A8 model doesn't have LTE compared to the Lenovo M10 plus. So thats another signifcatnt difference for me.
Price on the title :)
