PSA - Australia Post to shut down POLi Payments

Australia Post to shut down POLi Payments
https://www.polipayments.com

We're sorry to say we're closing our POLi Payments business in Australia

We want to sincerely thank our longstanding customers for their support and understanding following the decision to cease operations in Australia.

POLi has been in business for over 17 years and during this time has been a leading Account-to-Account payments solution, providing a fast and cost-efficient way for customers to pay and merchants to receive funds.

As of 30 September 2023, POLi will no longer operate in Australia. Until this time, we will continue to support you as we normally would. This decision aligns to our Post26 Strategy, which includes simplifying our products and service portfolio and ensuring our business is more financially sustainable.

The New Zealand operations of POLi will continue to be supported via the local distributor Merco, meaning merchant processing, console access and POLi payment services in New Zealand will remain available. For further information regarding POLi in New Zealand, please visit: https://www.polipay.co.nz/

Again, we want to thank you for all of your support over the years. If you have any questions about what this means for you, please email: [email protected]

  • I've never used this but I always assumed it was for people who needed to do electronic transfers but weren't able to set up internet banking of some type. Was there much other use?

It's what you use to buy plane tickets online without paying credit card fees.

A good idea and was a good step towards instant payments between bank accounts, which is what Osko is meant to be now.
Shame all banks have different interpretations of Osko and banks like CBA still hold first time transfers.

It never was fully officially supported by the banks and was probably against the T&C of your bank account to enter your login on a page that didn't belong to the bank.
