And for stuff that never turns up you can avoid the dispute process.
I wonder. I just had a thing tracking information claims it was signed for and delivered. Of course it wasn't.
AliExpress sides with seller in these cases. Went thru paypal
Paypal also refused the case: "The case was closed in the seller's favour because the seller provided a valid proof of delivery."
I've also had a case where it was delivered as a group. One of the items was missing/wrong item. In that case AliExpress after months gave a partial refund. Why partial? F lucky it was only $2.
Had one purchase gone through this process, just money collected when goods received rather than upon ordering.
I tried to use it yesterday but it said credit cards only which I don't have. Didn't work with any of my debit cards.
Well yeah, you may not have enough money in your debit account.
Uhh no, there's plenty in my accounts… The card number showing as unable to use before attempting to charge it.
And how is AliExpress to know you have enough money in your account or will still have enough money when the order arrives?
@AustriaBargain: No different to a credit card. That could be maxed out?
Correct. Eg, visa debit wont work with this service.
The amount sits as pending on your statement until the item is delivered.
You need a credit card, not debit because they do a pre-auth for the amount and sits pending in your account. It will clear once delivered.
I assume they collect your credit card details and charge you when tracking shows as delivered.
As a seller on the platform, they didn't get paid until you confirmed the goods had been received, so no change for them in that regards. Looks like Aliexpress is takin on the risk if your card bounces.
Pros are for big orders you get to hold onto your cash a bit longer.
